On Black Friday, the Trump administration tried to bury its own report showing that climate change could cost the economy hundreds of billions of dollars and kill thousands if something is not done soon. Here\u2019s what Trump doesn\u2019t want you to know:<\/p>\n

    Climate change could cost our economy hundreds of billions of dollars by the end of the century – potentially more than 10% of our GDP.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    CNN<\/a>: \u201cA new US government report delivers a dire warning about climate change and its devastating impacts, saying the economy could lose hundreds of billions of dollars — or, in the worst-case scenario, more than 10% of its GDP — by the end of the century.\u201d<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

      Higher temperatures from climate change could kill thousands per year by the end of the century.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      CNN<\/a>: \u201cHigher temperatures will also kill more people, the report says. The Midwest alone, which is predicted to have the largest increase in extreme temperature, will see an additional 2,000 premature deaths per year by 2090.\u201d<\/p>\n

       <\/p>\n

        Addressing climate change is an economic opportunity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cBut Andrew Light of WRI said many options to address climate change already exist, and that spending on such technologies should be seen as an investment that will be recouped. The opportunities are real and there\u2019s money to be made, he said.\u201d<\/p>\n

          While Trump continues to deny the existence of climate change and roll back policies to address it, Democrats are prioritizing climate change solutions.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

           <\/p>\n

          Politico<\/a>: \u201cThe message, echoing decades of sobering conclusions from the world’s leading climate scientists, is at odds with President Donald Trump’s repeated scoffing at the idea of global warming.\u201d<\/p>\n

           <\/p>\n

          New York Times<\/a>: \u201cHe has directed the Environmental Protection Agency to sharply weaken the nation\u2019s two major policies for curbing planet-warming pollution: One rule that would restrict greenhouse emissions from vehicle tailpipes, and another that would limit them from power plant smokestacks.\u201d<\/p>\n
