Trump\u2019s broken promises have devastated autoworkers and their communities in the wake of the latest announcement of layoffs and plant closures from General Motors. As one autoworker said, \u201cI can\u2019t believe our president would allow this to happen.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are real stories of autoworkers and communities hurt by Trump\u2019s broken promises:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are going right into Christmas, you are looking for celebration, and that\u2019s not there now. So what do you do? Do you still continue to buy gifts?\u201d – UAW member<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cI can\u2019t believe our president would allow this to happen.\u201d – GM Lordstown worker<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThis is devastating…Without GM, this area would be a ghost town.\u201d – Previously laid off GM worker<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cThis is one of the darkest days we\u2019ve seen here.\u201d – UAW Local 1112 president<\/a><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cYou could just feel the mood through the plant. I mean, everybody was kind of, \u2018woah.\u2019\u201d – UAW chaplain<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cIf GM Lordstown closes down, it\u2019s going to be devastating for our area \u2013 and to me personally, it really hits home.\u201d – Recently laid off GM worker <\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe have already seen school families negatively impacted by the elimination of the first and second shifts and now this news is just devastating.\u201d – Lordstown schools superintendent <\/a><\/p>\n
