With Friday\u2019s court ruling, Republicans have come as close as they\u2019ve ever been to destroying the Affordable Care Act. It\u2019s now clear that Republicans lied about protecting people with pre-existing conditions. Republicans are responsible for this threat to Americans\u2019 health care, and will stop at nothing to dismantle the ACA.<\/p>\n

The court\u2019s ruling could take health care away from 20 million Americans, and puts as many as 130 million Americans with pre-existing conditions at risk.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cA federal judge in Texas threw the health coverage of some 20 million Americans in limbo by ruling Obamacare must be scrapped because Congress struck the penalty for failing to obtain insurance coverage.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

CBS News<\/a>: \u201cAround 130 million people in the United States have pre-existing conditions, and without the ACA, insurers would no longer be required to cover those conditions.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The ruling reveals that Republicans lied about protecting people with pre-existing conditions.<\/p>\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cHealth-care law ruling puts Republicans on the defensive after campaign promises\u201d<\/p>\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cThroughout the campaign, Democrats pointed out what they called the hypocrisy of Republicans supporting the lawsuit while also telling voters such protections would be preserved. The problem with that promise is that Congress has not put in place any safeguards or contingencies for those protections in the event the law gets overturned.\u201d<\/p>\n

This ruling is the culmination of Republicans\u2019 repeated efforts to dismantle the Affordable Care Act.<\/p>\n
