In an interview yesterday, Trump campaign national press secretary\u00a0 Kayleigh McEnany <\/span>said<\/span><\/a> that farmers trust Trump “for good reason” and they “understand the long game.\u201d That\u2019s not what we\u2019re hearing.\u00a0 Farmers are suffering, and Trump and his administration continue to make it worse.<\/span><\/p>\n

This week, Trump trashed American wheat. He said the wheat we export is \u201cnot a good deal, and they don\u2019t even want our wheat.\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Trump<\/span><\/a>: \u201cThey send thousands and thousands — millions — of cars. We send them wheat. Wheat. That\u2019s not a good deal. And they don\u2019t even want our wheat.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump said that Japan only buys our wheat \u201cto make us feel good.\u201d\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Trump<\/span><\/a>: \u201cThey do it because they want us to at least feel that we\u2019re okay. You know, they do it to make us feel good.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If that wasn\u2019t enough, Trump\u2019s Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue mocked struggling farmers. He made a horrible joke, saying the farmers \u201cwhine.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Huffington Post<\/span><\/a>: \u201cAt a Farmfest listening session with farmers in Minnesota, Perdue hit back at the complaints with his joke: \u2018What do you call two farmers in a basement? A whine cellar.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s top economic advisor Peter Navarro upset farmers by falsely claiming an aid package was solving all their problems.<\/b><\/p>\n

Inside Trade<\/span><\/a>: \u201cAgriculture organization leaders this week denounced White House trade adviser Peter Navarro\u2019s claim that the Trump administration\u2019s trade aid package is making farmers \u2018whole.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s no wonder farmers are mad at the White House.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

National Association Of Wheat Growers<\/span><\/a>: \u201cMr. President, Japan is the #1 market for US wheat exports on average. They don\u2019t buy our wheat because \u2018they want us to feel okay.\u2019 They buy it because it\u2019s the highest quality wheat in the world. That\u2019s not fake news.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Minnesota Farmers Union President<\/span><\/a>: \u201cIt was very insensitive. It took everyone by surprise. He doesn\u2019t understand what farmers are dealing with, and he\u2019s the head of the Department of Agriculture.
