Wade"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>It\u2019s been three years since Donald Trump\u2019s extreme, anti-abortion Supreme Court justice nominee Amy Coney Barrett was sworn in, and after Barrett voted to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade <\/em>last year, millions of women have had their reproductive freedom ripped away from them. Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/110384051064378318\">said<\/a> it himself: \u201cI was able to kill Roe v. Wade.\u201d This week, he marked the anniversary of Barrett\u2019s swearing-in by backing extreme anti-abortion House Speaker Mike Johnson, who has supported nationwide abortion bans.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While Trump tries to lie about his extreme agenda against reproductive freedom, his anti-choice Supreme Court appointments overturned <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> and opened the door for extreme and cruel abortion bans across the country, affecting the lives of millions of women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let\u2019s be clear: Justice Amy Coney Barrett\u2019s confirmation was the final step in Trump and the extreme right\u2019s yearslong plan to overturn <\/strong><strong><em>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2016\/10\/19\/trump-ill-appoint-supreme-court-justices-to-overturn-roe-v-wade-abortion-case.html\">CNBC<\/a>:<strong> \u201cDonald Trump said the overturning of the landmark Supreme Court decision giving women the right to abortion \u2018will happen, automatically,\u2019 if he is elected president and gets to appoint justices to the high court.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018I am pro-life,\u2019 Trump said during Wednesday night\u2019s presidential debate when asked whether he wanted that decision, Roe v. Wade, reversed by the Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/us-news\/2020\/sep\/27\/trump-amy-coney-barrett-supreme-court-roe-v-wade\">The Guardian<\/a>: \u201cDonald <strong>Trump has said it \u2018is certainly possible\u2019 Amy Coney Barrett will be part of a supreme court decision overturning Roe v Wade,<\/strong> the 1973 ruling which made abortion legal in the US.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018She is certainly conservative in her views, in her rulings, and we\u2019ll have to see how that all works out, but<strong> I think it will work out,\u2019<\/strong> the president told Fox &amp; Friends Weekend of his new nominee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As a direct result of Barrett\u2019s appointment to the highest court in the land, Trump was able to deliver on his campaign promise to rip away reproductive freedom from women across the country.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/06\/24\/roe-v-wade-decision-trump-takes-credit-for-supreme-court-abortion-ruling.html\">CNBC<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Donald Trump called Friday\u2019s Supreme Court decision overturning Roe v. Wade \u2018the biggest WIN for LIFE in a generation\u2019 \u2014 <strong>and gave himself credit for the outcome in the controversial decision to undo federal abortion rights.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cTrump nominated three of the five conservative Supreme Court justices who voted to overturn Roe v. Wade: Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrump, in a statement, said Friday\u2019s ruling and other recent court decisions <strong>\u2018were only made possible because I delivered everything as promised, including nominating and getting three highly respected and strong Constitutionalists confirmed to the United States Supreme Court.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018It was my great honor to do so!\u2019 Trump said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/legal\/government\/trumps-justices-decisive-long-campaign-overturn-roe-v-wade-2022-06-24\/\">Reuters<\/a>: \u201cSeventeen months after leaving office, former <strong>President Donald Trump delivered on a campaign promise<\/strong> on Friday when the conservative U.S. Supreme Court majority he cemented overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As a result of Trump\u2019s extreme anti-abortion agenda, millions of women across the country have had their reproductive freedom ripped away \u2014 in some states before many even know they\u2019re pregnant. After the fall of <\/strong><strong><em>Roe<\/em><\/strong><strong>, states quickly implemented extreme abortion bans with no exceptions for rape or incest as well as laws that would throw doctors in jail for providing care and criminalize those who help women exercise their right to choose.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/interactive\/2022\/us\/abortion-laws-roe-v-wade.html\">New York Times<\/a>: <strong>\u201cTwenty-one states ban abortion or restrict the procedure earlier in pregnancy than the standard set by Roe v. Wade, <\/strong>which governed reproductive rights for nearly half a century until the Supreme Court overturned the decision last year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/10\/24\/politics\/georgia-supreme-court-six-week-abortion-ban\/index.html#:~:text=Georgia's%20LIFE%20Act%20bans%2C%20with,yet%20know%20they%20are%20pregnant.\">CNN<\/a>: \u201cThe Georgia State Supreme Court upheld the state\u2019s six-week abortion ban in a ruling Tuesday morning. The ruling reverses a lower court\u2019s decision to void certain sections of the LIFE Act because it was enacted prior to the US Supreme Court\u2019s Dobbs decision one year ago that overturned the federal right to an abortion under Roe v. Wade. Georgia\u2019s LIFE Act bans, with some exceptions, abortion when early cardiac activity is detected \u2013 <strong>which can be as early as six weeks into a pregnancy, when many women don\u2019t yet know they are pregnant.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/abortion-north-dakota-six-week-ban-2bccde2925d30dd4772aaed84f3c2d98\">Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cNorth Dakota on Monday adopted one <strong>of the strictest anti-abortion laws in the country<\/strong> as Republican Gov. Doug Burgum signed legislation banning the procedure throughout pregnancy, with slim exceptions up to six weeks\u2019 gestation. In those early weeks, abortions would only be allowed in cases of rape or incest, or in medical emergencies. <strong>After six weeks, rape and incest victims cannot get abortions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/health\/womens-health\/idaho-most-extreme-anti-abortion-state-law-restricts-travel-rcna78225\">NBC News<\/a>: <strong>\u201cIdaho has become the first state to pass a law explicitly restricting some out-of-state travel for abortions. The new legislation makes helping a pregnant minor get an abortion, whether through medication or a procedure, in another state punishable by two to five years in prison.<\/strong> Gov. Brad Little, a Republican, signed the bill on Wednesday night, and it goes into effect after 30 days. Abortion has been banned at all stages of pregnancy in Idaho since August \u2014 a result of the Supreme Court&#8217;s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dispatch.com\/story\/news\/health\/2022\/07\/01\/indiana-abortion-law-roe-v-wade-overturned-travel\/7779936001\/\">Columbus Dispatch<\/a>: \u201cOn Monday three days after the Supreme Court issued its groundbreaking decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an Indianapolis obstetrician-gynecologist, took a call from a colleague, a child abuse doctor in Ohio. Hours after the Supreme Court action, the Buckeye state had outlawed any abortion after six weeks.<strong> Now this doctor had a 10-year-old patient in the office who was six weeks and three days pregnant.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.orlandoweekly.com\/news\/middle-school-aged-incest-victim-was-turned-away-from-florida-abortion-clinics-under-15-week-ban-32685185\">Orlando Weekly<\/a>: <strong>\u201cMiddle school-aged incest victim was turned away<\/strong> from Florida abortion clinics under 15-week ban\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/04\/10\/pprom-florida-abortion-ban\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cTwo friends were denied care after Florida banned abortion. <strong>One almost died.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2023\/05\/02\/health\/florida-abortion-term-pregnancy\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>: \u201cFlorida law allows abortions after 15 weeks if two doctors confirm the diagnosis of a fatal fetal abnormality in writing, but<strong> doctors in Florida and states with similar laws have been hesitant to terminate such pregnancies for fear someone will question whether the abnormality was truly fatal. <\/strong>The penalties for violating the law are severe: Doctors can go to prison and face heavy fines and legal fees.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump is trying and failing to obfuscate his extreme agenda against reproductive freedom, but take it from him:<\/strong><br><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/donald-trump\/trump-was-able-kill-roe-v-wade-rcna84897\">NBC News<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill Roe v.
