As Republican candidates trip over themselves in a MAGA race to the bottom, Haley must answer for her extreme anti-abortion record, her ties to notorious election deniers, and her cozy relationships with foreign lobbyists and giant corporations. No matter how hard she tries to backtrack on her own words, voters know that Haley is just another MAGA extremist and will continue to reject her unpopular, far-right agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley continues to make clear she would sign a nationwide abortion ban \u2013&nbsp;even saying on the debate stage last week that she would sign \u201canything that would pass\u201d federally.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1722446891986608467\">Kirsten Welker<\/a>: \u201cWould you support a 15-week federal limit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haley: <strong>\u201cI would support anything that would pass.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DNCWarRoom\/status\/1703863713571492104?s=20\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cWhatever we can get 60 Senate votes on, isn\u2019t that better than what we have now? And if it\u2019s \u2013 <strong>if it\u2019s six weeks, that\u2019s great.<\/strong> If it\u2019s 15 weeks, that\u2019s great.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1712614812981567697\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cSo what can we do? Is there room for a federal law? <strong>I think there is room for a federal law.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MegKinnardAP\/status\/1661366658156445699?s=20\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cYes of course I would sign [a federal ban].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/nikki-haley-2024-republican-candidate-vows-sign-federal-abortion-ban-elected-president\">Fox News<\/a>: \u201cNikki Haley, 2024 Republican candidate, vows to sign federal abortion ban if elected president\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/nikki-haley-abortion_n_64a2c521e4b0c7e9d8e899a2\">HuffPost<\/a>: \u201cNikki Haley Says She &#8216;Absolutely&#8217; Would Sign 15-Week Abortion Ban If GOP Had The Votes\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/DNCWarRoom\/status\/1694560902933020922\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cWhen it comes to a federal bill, <strong>I think there is a place for that.\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley has a yearslong, extreme anti-abortion record that includes signing an abortion ban as governor that had no exceptions for rape or incest and threatened doctors with jail time.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/nikki-haley-beliefs-opinion-republican-2024-1781155\">Newsweek<\/a>: \u201cHaley described herself as \u2018very pro-life\u2019 and has spent most of her political career fighting for anti-abortion legislation, including signing a law as South Carolina governor in 2016 banning the procedure in most circumstances after 19 weeks of pregnancy unless the mother\u2019s life is at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/time.com\/4348347\/nikki-haley-south-carolina-abortion-law\/\">TIME<\/a>: \u201cThe law passed the General Assembly last week and blocks women from having abortions after 19 weeks of pregnancy, with no exceptions for rape or incest. \u2026 Doctors who violate the law could face a fine or jail time.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley yesterday doubled down on her MAGAnomics plan to end Social Security and Medicare as we know them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1Jgfxz7l52ea-DHXPgS9-2T3N6mGM6ich\/view\">Andrew Ross Sorkin<\/a>: \u201cAre you on board with cutting entitlements in a big and meaningful way?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haley: \u201cSocial security goes bankrupt in 10 years, Medicare goes bankrupt in eight. <strong>Anyone that says they&#8217;re not going to take on entitlement reform means they&#8217;re going to go in and be president and leave the country bankrupt.<\/strong> You can&#8217;t do that.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley has long been a proponent of making devastating cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/haley-social-security-medicare-president-2024-0b6ea12f7ee8c650ce2de4bf2df5a787\">Associated Press<\/a>: <strong>\u201cRepublican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is proposing changes to entitlement programs for younger generations, opening the door to potential cuts to Social Security and Medicare if elected.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2023\/02\/09\/trump-desantis-biden-social-security-medicare\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cNikki Haley, the former South Carolina governor and U. N. ambassador who is planning to announce her own presidential bid this month, also praised Ryan\u2019s Medicare proposal at the time and said lawmakers should examine Medicare and Social Security spending to address federal debt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201c\u2018What they need to be doing is looking at entitlements,\u2019 Haley said in a 2010 interview on Fox News. \u2018Look at Social Security. Look at Medicaid. Look at Medicare. Look at these things, and let\u2019s actually go to the heart of what is causing government to grow, and tackle that.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DNCWarRoom\/status\/1695084769321595388?s=20\">Haley<\/a>: \u201cAny candidate that says they\u2019re not going to touch entitlements means that they\u2019re basically going to go into office and leave America bankrupt. \u2026 We change retirement age to reflect life expectancy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafor.com\/newsletter\/02\/09\/2023\/do-2024-republicans-have-a-tea-party-problem\">Semafor<\/a>: \u201cAs governor of South Carolina at the time, Nikki Haley praised the [Paul Ryan] fiscal blueprint for \u2018trying to bring common sense to this world of insanity.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley is a fervent supporter of a disastrous MAGAnomics agenda \u2013 she put the rich and powerful over working families as governor of South Carolina and now wants to make permanent Donald Trump\u2019s tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/video\/2023\/06\/12\/presidential-candidate-nikki-haley-energy-independence-is-key-to-national-security.html\">Haley<\/a>: <strong>\u201cWell I think what I\u2019d like to see is us go back to what Trump had under the tax cuts under him \u2026 I was there.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.postandcourier.com\/aikenstandard\/news\/s-c-lawmakers-arent-looking-to-tax-increases-to-fill-budget\/article_f34b6130-581a-553b-89e8-8a6af45be330.html\">Aiken Standard<\/a>: \u201cGov.-elect Nikki Haley, who takes office next week, campaigned on eliminating the state\u2019s corporate income tax.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.augustachronicle.com\/story\/news\/2012\/03\/25\/haley-says-eliminating-corporate-income-taxes-will-help-bring-jobs\/14503111007\/\">Augusta Chronicle<\/a>: \u201cState budget advisers predict eliminating South Carolina\u2019s corporate income tax over four years, as both Haley and House Republicans propose, would reduce state revenues by $61.6 million in the first year and $218.3 million annually when the phase-out is complete.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley\u2019s first congressional endorser and New Hampshire campaign chair both have worked to undermine our democracy, and she spent last year campaigning with notorious election deniers.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nikkihaley\/status\/1354086642341064707?lang=en\">Haley<\/a> just weeks after January 6: <strong>\u201cI\u2019m really proud of the successes of the Trump administration.<\/strong> Whether it was foreign policy or domestic policy, we should embrace those. Those were the right policies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/nikki-haley-embraces-trump-in-her-vision-of-gop-future-11633424400\">Haley<\/a> in October 2021: \u201c[Trump] has a strong legacy from his administration. \u2026 He has the ability to get strong people elected, and he has the ability to move the ball, and I hope that he continues to do that. We need him in the Republican Party. I don\u2019t want us to go back to the days before Trump.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/19\/election-deniers-campaign-2024\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: <strong>\u201c[Haley] has endorsed and campaigned with a slate of Senate candidates who reject or question the 2020 election results<\/strong> as she positions herself as a potential 2024 presidential candidate. Haley appeared at a rally Tuesday with Don Bolduc of New Hampshire, who insisted Trump won the election and that President Biden was illegitimate &#8230; She also campaigned with Adam Laxalt of Nevada, who led the Trump campaign\u2019s efforts to overturn the results in that state. And she endorsed Ted Budd of North Carolina, who as a congressman voted against certifying the electoral college results on Jan. 6, 2021.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/nikki-haley-endorsed-top-trump-ally-ralph-norman-says-gop-needs-new-leadership\">Fox News<\/a>: \u201cFormer UN Ambassador Nikki Haley has secured the endorsement of a top Trump ally, House Freedom Caucus member Rep. Ralph Norman \u2026 Ralph Norman is the first South Carolina lawmaker to publicly back Haley&#8217;s bid for presidency. His support comes despite former President Donald Trump&#8217;s endorsement of his re-election the 2022 midterm elections and also after <strong>Norman did not vote to certify the 2020 election, in a nod to his loyalty to Trump.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.deseret.com\/2023\/9\/5\/23860030\/nikki-haley-new-hampshire-bolduc\">Deseret News<\/a>: <strong>\u201cNikki Haley adds controversial former U.S. Senate candidate to campaign team\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDon Bolduc, a retired Army general and former U.S. Senate candidate, is the new chair for Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley\u2019s New Hampshire campaign, the Haley campaign announced Tuesday morning. Bolduc made national headlines during his 2022 Senate campaign for his surprise primary victory over veteran New Hampshire politician Chuck Morse and for his controversial views on COVID-19 and the 2020 election.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haley continues to be under fire for her cozy, yearslong relationship with foreign lobbyists and big business, which she has prioritized over helping hardworking families.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/US\/nikki-haley-slams-foreign-lobbyists-fundraising\/story?id=99704708\">ABC News<\/a>: <strong>\u201cNikki Haley slams foreign lobbyists while accepting funds from them\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut Haley&#8217;s rhetoric hasn&#8217;t stopped her from raising funds from supporters that are currently or formerly registered agents working for foreign entities. Under United States FARA laws, as part of the Foreign Agents Registration Act, individuals and entities acting as an agent of a foreign client are required to register with the Department of Justice. One of Haley&#8217;s top fundraisers, Oswaldo Palomo, the managing director of D.C.-based consulting firm Chartwell Strategy Group, is himself a registered foreign agent.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thedailybeast.com\/nikki-haley-cant-shake-her-foreign-lobbyist-problem?ref=wrap\">Daily Beast<\/a>: <strong>\u201cNikki Haley Can\u2019t Shake Her Foreign Lobbyist Problem\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut notably, even after the ABC report about Haley\u2019s foreign lobbying support, Palomo made another contribution. This one, on June 16, was for $5,000, making Palomo a maximum contributor to both Haley\u2019s campaign and her affiliated Stand for America PAC. What makes the second donation particularly interesting, however, is that the lobbying firm did not disclose it, as the Foreign Agents Registration Act requires those who lobby for a foreign government to do.
