In response to Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans doubling down on their anti-abortion extremism, <\/em>DNC spokesperson Sarafina Chitika released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs he brags about and campaigns on his anti-abortion record, Donald Trump is right about exactly one thing: He is responsible for the overturning of Roe v. Wade<\/em> \u2013 and he remains committed to ripping away reproductive freedom from women across the country. After last week\u2019s losses across the country for anti-abortion Republicans, Trump\u2019s MAGA minions are doubling down on their highly unpopular MAGA agenda that threatens Americans\u2019 most basic freedoms. Extremist Republicans in Congress led by Mike Johnson are standing by to aid and abet Trump in enacting an all-out ban on abortion, but voters have been clear: They don\u2019t support this losing agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new ad in Iowa shows that Trump is LITERALLY CAMPAIGNING on his unique role in overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade <\/em><\/strong>\u2013 paving the way for extreme abortion bans across the country. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump campaign radio ad<\/a>: “And Trump nominated conservative judges, leading to Roe v. Wade being overturned.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump also ran ads in Iowa last month bragging about his extreme anti-abortion record and his role in overturning <\/strong>Roe<\/em><\/strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FWIW<\/a>: \u201cThis week, we found more evidence that the Trump campaign has no interest in \u2018moderating\u2019 on the issue of abortion. On Monday, his team began running new Facebook video ads targeting voters in Iowa, referring to Trump as \u2018THE MOST Pro-Life President in history.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Republicans on Capitol Hill continue to rally around an extreme national abortion ban even as election after election has proven how deeply unpopular and out-of-touch their anti-choice extremism is.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSNBC<\/a>: \u201cDespite election results, Republicans eye national abortion ban\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRepublican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio told reporters, \u2018We can\u2019t give in to the idea that the federal Congress has no role in this matter because if it doesn\u2019t, then the pro-life movement is basically not going to exist, I think, for the next couple of years.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAround the same time, Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina confirmed to NBC News that he plans to \u2018eventually\u2019 reintroduce the 15-week federal abortion ban he first unveiled in September 2022. Vance said he agrees with Graham\u2019s proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump said earlier this year he supports a national abortion ban, and he has repeatedly bragged about the unique role he had in overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 opening the door for MAGA Republicans to pass extreme abortion bans into law across the country. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life. And it\u2019s very important.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill Roe v. Wade<\/em>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone \u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to. Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. Thank you President TRUMP!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe’ll pick something that’s going to be very, very good for pro-life \u2026 I\u2019m going to be in there pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on if he would sign a six-week national abortion ban<\/a>: \u201cI’m looking at all [options].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> was an incredible thing for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with. \u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> … For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s not just Trump: The rest of the 2024 Republican primary field is made up of anti-abortion extremists who want to rip away freedoms from women across the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirsten Welker<\/a>: \u201cWould you support a 15-week federal limit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ramaswamy<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cI remain open-minded to any constitutional scholar convincing me of the legal basis for the federal government, which I believe has no authority to codify Roe v. Wade<\/em> into law, to codify a federal abortion ban into law either. I remain open-minded.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Examiner<\/a>: \u201cChristie<\/strong> previously supported a 20-week abortion ban with exceptions for rape, incest, or to save a mother’s life before his first presidential run in 2016. \u2026 When Cooper pressed Christie about whether he would sign a federal abortion ban that did have consensus, Christie danced around the topic. \u2018I don’t think we should be worried about that now,\u2019 Christie responded.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
