After months of wasting time and taxpayer dollars and failing to produce any evidence, MAGA Republicans are charging ahead with their sham impeachment inquiry this week, once again showing the American people that they\u2019d rather put on political theater than do the actual work of governing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

House Republicans are continuing to drag out their sham impeachment inquiry despite the fact that GOP lawmakers have publicly conceded that they have no evidence to show for their monthslong probe. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

USA Today<\/a>: \u201cMitt Romney <\/strong>says he doesn’t see ‘any evidence’ to authorize Joe Biden impeachment inquiry\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Ken Buck<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> \u201cThe time for impeachment is the time when there\u2019s evidence linking President Biden, if there\u2019s evidence linking President Biden to a high crime or misdemeanor, that doesn\u2019t exist right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Darrell Issa<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cThe actual participation by the vice president and now president\u2014that still has to be discovered and\/or nailed down.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cAnd one GOP lawmaker, granted anonymity to speak more freely, offered an even blunter assessment: \u2018There\u2019s no evidence that Joe Biden got money, or that Joe Biden, you know, agreed to do something so that Hunter could get money. There\u2019s just no evidence of that. And they can\u2019t impeach without that evidence. And I don\u2019t I don\u2019t think the evidence exists.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rep. Chuck Edwards<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019ve heard over and over that President Biden has not been implicated or proven for any wrongdoing here, and I acknowledge that.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Shelley Moore<\/strong><\/a>:<\/strong> \u201c\u2018I don\u2019t know what the evidence is,\u2019 said Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a member of Senate GOP leadership, making clear she didn\u2019t think the House had sufficient grounds to move forward.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen Neukam<\/a>: \u201cNewsy: Rep. Don Bacon<\/strong>, R-Neb., told a small group of reporters this morning that there are “probably not” high crimes or misdemeanors that Joe Biden has committed. But he still plans to vote to authorize the impeachment inquiry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even Fox News\u2019 conservative pundits are admitting that the inquiry is a complete sham and a waste of time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neil Cavuto<\/a>: \u201cThe promise of explosive testimony and incontrovertible proof, that did not materialize today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gillian Turner<\/a>: \u201cThere has not been produced a smoking gun.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only has the House GOP failed to produce any shred of evidence, but Republicans have openly admitted that the stunt is politically motivated. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HuffPost<\/a>: \u201cGOP Rep. James Comer Implies Biden Family Probe Is Really About Helping Trump In 2024\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cOn the other hand, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) made headlines last week when he predicted House Republicans would impeach Biden \u2018whether it\u2019s justified or not\u2019 because \u2018the Democrats weaponized impeachment\u2019 when they twice formally accused Trump of wrongdoing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

USA Today<\/a>: \u201cFor what it\u2019s worth, Rep. Troy Nehls, R-Texas, one of Trump\u2019s most vocal supporters in the House, has not shied away from pushing for Biden\u2019s impeachment in part to play politics. If Trump, who has been impeached twice, is the 2024 Republican nominee, Nehls said he wants to give Trump \u2018a little bit of ammo to fire back\u2019 and say Biden has also been impeached.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cRepublicans have been struggling to show progress in the nearly year-long probe of the president and business deals by members of his family, including his son, Hunter Biden. They have presented no evidence to prove that the president, in his current or previous office, abused his role or accepted bribes.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Republicans are putting on this political theater for an audience of one \u2013 Donald Trump. Instead of doing the work of governing, they\u2019re doing his bidding and trying to score cheap political points. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cDonald Trump has publicly and privately encouraged House Republicans\u2019 push to impeach President Joe Biden ahead of their potential rematch in 2024, two sources close to the former president said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s a political escalation, urged on by Trump, after his own two impeachments.
