In response to Nikki Haley\u2019s Fox News town hall, <\/em>DNC National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNikki Haley\u2019s anti-freedom agenda is so extreme that she\u2019s afraid to tell the truth about it even on Fox. Haley\u2019s repeated lying about her stance on extreme abortion bans shows why Americans cannot trust her when it comes to their basic rights. Her dark vision for America would see women stripped of their ability to make their own health care decisions and leave them unable to afford or access lifesaving medical care. No matter who wins the race for the MAGA base, Haley continues to prove she\u2019s anything but moderate \u2014 she\u2019s a far-right MAGA extremist whose agenda is too toxic, too dangerous, and too out-of-touch for women.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley has said she would sign any national abortion ban that landed on her desk. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirsten Welker<\/a>: \u201cWould you support a 15-week federal limit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI would support anything that would pass.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cWhatever we can get 60 Senate votes on, isn\u2019t that better than what we have now? And if it\u2019s\u2013 if it\u2019s six weeks, that\u2019s great. If it\u2019s 15 weeks, that\u2019s great.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cSo what can we do? Is there room for a federal law? I think there is room for a federal law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley has continued in recent weeks to double down on her support for extreme abortion bans and a national abortion ban.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cIf the people decided they wanted a six-week abortion bill, would you go along with it? Of course.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cThe question asked in Iowa was, \u2018If you were governor of South Carolina, and they sent you a six week bill, would you sign it?\u2019 And I said yes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cIs there a place for a federal law [banning abortion]? I think there is.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cThe issue that we have at hand right now is \u2026 is there a place for a federal law. And I think there is a place for a federal law.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cThe debate that we’re having in this country is \u2026 can there be a federal law that deals with abortion \u2026 I do think there’s a place for federal law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley is running ads that tout her extreme record that includes signing an abortion ban as governor with no exceptions for rape and incest that threatened doctors with jail time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
