In response to Donald Trump bragging about his role in allowing Republicans to push for extreme abortion bans across the country, <\/em>DNC National Press Secretary Sarafina Chitika released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMAGA Republicans\u2019 extreme crusade to rip away women\u2019s basic reproductive freedoms would not be possible without one man: Donald Trump. Because of Trump, women in Kansas, New Hampshire, Idaho, and across the country are now facing severe threats to accessing basic reproductive health care while members of the 2024 GOP field are on board with a sweeping national abortion ban. Trump called the end of Roe v. Wade<\/em> a \u2018miracle,\u2019 but American women know his presidency was nothing short of a nightmare for their fundamental rights \u2013 and it\u2019s only set to get worse if he returns to office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump this week once again took credit for extreme abortion bans across the country and said he is \u201cproud\u201d of his role in overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade.<\/em><\/strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kansas Republicans have introduced a near-total abortion ban.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEight Kansas House Republicans introduced a bill crafted to implement a near-total ban on clinical abortions and forbid distribution of pharmaceutical drugs to end pregnancies, while also authorizing individuals to file lawsuits against doctors and others who helped someone obtain an abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Republicans in New Hampshire held a hearing on their proposed extreme 15-day abortion ban that includes no exceptions for rape or incest and threatens health care providers with felony charges.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Hampshire House Bill 1248<\/a>: \u201cThis bill prohibits abortion, other than for a medical emergency, if the gestational  age of the fetus is more than 15 days.<\/strong> … Any health care provider who knowingly performs or induces an abortion in violation of this subdivision … shall be guilty of a class B felony.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Idaho Republicans\u2019 extreme abortion ban is now allowed to be enforced.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201c\u200b\u200bThe Supreme Court is allowing Idaho to enforce its strict abortion ban, even in medical emergencies\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CBS News<\/a>: \u201cEnacted in 2020, Idaho’s measure makes it a felony for doctors to perform most abortions, with an exception for procedures performed when necessary to save the life of the mother. The law took effect when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June 2022, joining so-called trigger bans in more than a dozen states that went into force following the high court’s ruling.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMINDER: Trump is running campaign ads touting his unique role in overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade <\/em><\/strong>that paved the way for these extreme abortion bans across the country. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump campaign radio ad<\/a>: “And Trump nominated conservative judges, leading to Roe v. Wade<\/em> being overturned.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FWIW<\/a>: \u201cThis week, we found more evidence that the Trump campaign has no interest in \u2018moderating\u2019 on the issue of abortion. On Monday, his team began running new Facebook video ads targeting voters in Iowa, referring to Trump as \u2018THE MOST Pro-Life President in history.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump supports a national abortion ban and has repeatedly bragged about his role in overturning <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life. And it\u2019s very important.\u201d <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone \u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to. Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. Thank you President TRUMP!!!\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe’ll pick something that’s going to be very, very good for pro-life \u2026 I\u2019m going to be in there pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on if he would sign a six-week national abortion ban<\/a>: \u201cI’m looking at all [options].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> was an incredible thing for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with. \u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> … For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is not the only anti-abortion extremist in the 2024 GOP primary \u2013 Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis both also have records of ripping away women\u2019s freedoms and would sign a national abortion ban into law.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cHaley, who \u2018often clashed with members of her party because she labeled them insufficiently conservative\u2019 on abortion,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
