In response to RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel taking some advice from the DNC and encouraging Republicans to tell voters about their extreme anti-abortion agendas, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRonna McDaniel wants Republicans to talk more about their extreme anti-choice agendas, and we couldn\u2019t agree more. Donald Trump is already doing just that: He has repeatedly demanded credit for terminating Roe v. Wade<\/em>, boasted about cruel abortion bans that have since gone into effect, and supports ripping away more freedoms from women if he gets back in office. Voters deserve to hear directly from Trump, McDaniel, and their fellow MAGA Republicans just how extreme and unpopular their anti-freedom agenda truly is \u2013 and we\u2019re happy to pitch in by continuing to remind voters just how out of touch Trump and his MAGA minions are on abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

McDaniel<\/a>: \u201cOne of the things the RNC has been leading on \u2026 we\u2019ve been giving guidance to candidates to get out in front of it, talk about [abortion].<\/strong> We put a memo out before the election, Kellyanne Conway and I were calling candidates saying, \u2018Please don\u2019t ignore this issue.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump is talking about abortion: He\u2019s demanding credit for the extreme abortion bans that MAGA Republicans have passed around the country and said he is \u201cproud\u201d of his work to help overturn <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone \u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to.<\/strong> Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. FWIW<\/a>: \u201cThis week, we found more evidence that the Trump campaign has no interest in \u2018moderating\u2019 on the issue of abortion. On Monday, his team began running new Facebook video ads targeting voters in Iowa, referring to Trump as \u2018THE MOST Pro-Life President in history.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> was an incredible thing<\/strong> for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with. \u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> … For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump supports a national abortion ban and has a yearslong extreme anti-abortion record. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere of course remains a vital role for the federal government in protecting unborn life. And it\u2019s very important.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump on if he would sign a six-week national abortion ban<\/a>: \u201cI’m looking at all [options].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cWe’ll pick something that’s going to be very, very good for pro-life \u2026 I\u2019m going to be in there pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cThere has to be some form of punishment [for women who have abortions].\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cThe Trump administration formally backed a House bill Monday that would ban abortions after 20 weeks. <\/strong>\u2026 It would make it a crime to perform or attempt an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, with the possibility of a fine, up to five years in prison or both.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nikki Haley has pledged to sign any nationwide abortion ban that landed on her desk. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Margaret Brennan<\/a>: \u201cWould you [sign a national abortion ban]?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI’ve said I’m fine with a federal law.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kirsten Welker<\/a>: \u201cWould you support a 15-week federal limit?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley: \u201cI would support anything that would pass.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haley<\/a>: \u201cWhatever we can get 60 Senate votes on, isn\u2019t that better than what we have now? And if it\u2019s\u2013 if it\u2019s six weeks, that\u2019s great. If it\u2019s 15 weeks, that\u2019s great.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
