In response to Donald Trump\u2019s campaign chief telling prospective donors to not take Trump\u2019s own words seriously, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u2019s aides know his rhetoric is dangerous and divisive \u2013 that\u2019s why they\u2019re now desperately trying to cover for his constant \u2018offensive\u2019 rhetoric with donors. But even if Trump\u2019s rich backers buy that line, voters aren\u2019t sold. Trump has a track record that proves he will act on his own words and implement his extreme MAGA platform if he ever gets back in office. In 2016, he campaigned on a reckless anti-freedom agenda of overturning Roe v. Wade<\/em>, repealing the Affordable Care Act, and enacting a \u2018total and complete\u2019 Muslim ban \u2013 all of which he pushed for while in office. The next time Trump\u2019s aides try to spin his own words, they ought to check the tape on Trump\u2019s own efforts to follow through on the most extreme and unpopular salvos of his MAGA agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNBC<\/a>: \u201cA top advisor to Donald Trump\u2019s 2024 presidential campaign has a message for some of the wealthiest Republican donors in the country: Don\u2019t take the former president\u2019s divisive rhetoric too seriously.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWiles encouraged the powerful donors to essentially ignore Trump\u2019s more offensive remarks \u2026 Wiles conceded to the donors that Donald Trump is going to say things people don\u2019t like.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump campaigned on reversing <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 his hand-picked Supreme Court justices overturned <\/strong>Roe<\/em><\/strong>, allowing him to deliver on his threat to rip away freedoms from women across the country. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNBC<\/a>: \u201cDonald Trump said the overturning of the landmark Supreme Court decision giving women the right to abortion \u2018will happen, automatically,\u2019 if he is elected president and gets to appoint justices to the high court.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018I am pro-life,\u2019 Trump said during Wednesday night\u2019s presidential debate when asked whether he wanted that decision, Roe v. Wade, reversed by the Supreme Court.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reuters<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Donald Trump delivered on a campaign promise<\/strong> on Friday when the conservative U.S. Supreme Court majority he cemented overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalized abortion nationwide.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><\/a> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cAfter 50 years of failure, with nobody coming even close, I was able to kill <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, much to the \u2018shock\u2019 of everyone \u2026 Without me there would be no 6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks, or whatever is finally agreed to.<\/strong> Without me the pro Life movement would have just kept losing. Thank you President TRUMP!!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI’m the one that got rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and everybody said that was an impossible thing to do. I put on three Supreme Court justices. Very few people have had that privilege or honor.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cGetting rid of <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> was an incredible thing<\/strong> for pro-life because it gave pro-life something to negotiate with. Pro-life had absolutely nothing, being stuck in Roe v. Wade<\/em>, to negotiate with. \u2026 And look, everybody that was president wanted to get rid and tried to get rid of Roe v. Wade<\/em> … For fifty years, this has been going on. I was able to do it, and I was very honored to do it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When he was in office, Trump came up just one vote short in Congress from achieving his goal of repealing the Affordable Care Act.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump campaigned in 2016 on an extreme promise to enact a \u201ctotal and complete\u201d Muslim ban, which he implemented as one of his first actions in office.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
