In response to Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson dismissing the Border Patrol union\u2019s support of the bipartisan bill to secure the border, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMAGA Mike Johnson himself said that border security is \u2018a job for Congress,\u2019 but now he thinks he knows more about border security than the Border Patrol agents who are asking Republicans to stop weaponizing this issue and work across the aisle to follow through on their own promises. By shamefully dismissing Border Patrol agents\u2019 endorsement of this bipartisan legislation and crudely suggesting that their support is just a scheme for personal gain, Johnson is making it clear that his loyalties lie with Donald Trump\u2019s political ambitions, not the American people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MAGA Mike Johnson dismissed the Border Patrol agents\u2019 support of the bipartisan bill to improve border security, claiming they only support it because they want better pay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura Ingraham<\/a>: \u201cThe Border Patrol union has come out and said the bill is better than the status quo.<\/strong> Does that affect your thinking on this?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson: \u201cWell, I think it does have something to do with the pay structure that\u2019s in the bill.<\/strong> I understand that they\u2019re desperate for measures that will assist.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson has repeatedly called for action to secure the border and said it \u201cis a job for Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cOur immigration system is broken. Reforming that system is a job for Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cThe crisis at our southern border has deteriorated to such an extent that significant action can wait no longer.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cWe must insist \u2014 must insist \u2014 that the border be the top priority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cI do think it\u2019s past time to secure the border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
