\u201cKari Lake and Donald Trump have a lot in common: They both constantly repeat the same blatant, dangerous lies to undermine our democracy, and they both know how to lose Arizona. Lake and Trump still haven\u2019t accepted the results of the 2020 election, and they are continuing to push the same failed MAGA agenda of banning abortion, ripping away health care, and embracing dictators and far-right extremists. It\u2019s unclear whether Trump will take advantage of Lake\u2019s strong experience in losing elections this November, but even if she\u2019s not on the ballot with him, voters will reject their unpopular brand of MAGA extremism at the ballot box.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kari Lake has entered Trump\u2019s MAGA orbit by pushing his extreme and dangerous agenda \u2013 and is now reportedly being considered as Trump\u2019s VP pick.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iowa Capital Dispatch<\/a>: \u201cFormer Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake told Iowans Thursday she\u2019s willing to \u2018do anything I can\u2019 to help former President Donald Trump get back into office.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA member of the audience asked Lake whether she would consider serving as Trump\u2019s running mate in 2024. \u2018You don\u2019t really run for that,\u2019 Lake said. \u2018\u2026 I will do also anything I can to help President Trump.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cKari Lake Stokes Fear and Leans on Trump as She Formally Opens Senate Run\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 19th<\/a>: \u201cIn campaigning, Kari Lake modeled herself on Donald Trump. In losing, she\u2019s doing so too.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake is a notorious election denier who still does not accept the results of the 2020 presidential election or her own loss in the Arizona governor race in 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cKari Lake has put false claims about the 2020 election at the center of her campaign \u2013 repeatedly and falsely declaring the election \u2018stolen\u2019 and even calling it \u2018disqualifying\u2019 and \u2018sickening\u2019<\/strong> that her top rival in the party primary wouldn\u2019t say the same. In an interview with The New York Times in early August, after primary voters had cast their ballots, Lake said of Biden: \u2018Deep down, I think we all know this illegitimate fool in the White House \u2013 I feel sorry for him \u2013 didn\u2019t win.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cLake was quick to brandish her Trump endorsement and criticized Robson for not rejecting the results of the 2020 election. Lake said the 2020 election was \u2018corrupt and stolen\u2019 and that Biden lost the election.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Insider<\/a>: \u201cArizona Governor candidate Kari Lake, the Republican who recently received an endorsement from former President Donald Trump, said she would not have certified the 2020 election results in the state. <\/strong>Trump lost Arizona by over 10,000 votes. \u2026 Lake has routinely echoed Trump\u2019s baseless claims of election fraud.<\/strong> \u2018Considering how much already at the time information we had about serious irregularities and problems with the election, I would not have certified it right then,\u2019 Lake said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cKari Lake, the Republican defeated in Arizona governor\u2019s race, is formally challenging her loss to Democrat Katie Hobbs, asking a court to throw out certified election results from the state\u2019s most populous county and either declare her the winner or rerun the governor\u2019s election in that county. The lawsuit filed late Friday by Lake centers on long lines and other difficulties that people experienced while voting on Election Day in Maricopa County. The challenge filed in Maricopa County Superior Court also alleges hundreds of thousands of ballots were illegally cast, but there\u2019s no evidence that\u2019s true. Lake has refused to acknowledge that she lost to Hobbs by more than 17,000 votes.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jeremy Duda, Axios<\/a>: \u201c.@KariLake called for @SecretaryHobbs to be imprisoned over fictional election rigging claims.<\/strong> \u2018Frankly, I think she should be locked up.\u2019 Crowd starts \u2018lock her up\u2019 chant. Lake says, \u2018I agree.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake is an anti-abortion extremist who \u2013 like Trump \u2013 supports cruel attempts to rip away women\u2019s freedoms.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201c[Lake said she] would support and enforce Arizona\u2019s pre-Roe ban on abortion, which would prohibit the procedure in nearly all cases and would criminalize doctors who perform it.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019m incredibly thrilled that we are going to have a great law that\u2019s already on the books. \u2026 It will prohibit abortion in Arizona except to save the life of a mother. And I think we\u2019re going to be paving the way and setting course for other states to follow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newsweek<\/a>: \u201cLake told Baier that she would \u2018very much support\u2019 banning abortion pills in the state.<\/strong> \u2018I think it\u2019s really scary that a young, afraid mother could be at home taking a pill without medical supervision,\u2019 Lake said. \u2018It could be the end of the mother as well.\u2019 While Lake expressed concern about women undergoing abortions without medical supervision, she supported the closure of all abortion clinics.<\/strong> Lake told Baier if she\u2019s elected governor, she\u2019ll let the Legislature pass laws \u2018to protect the unborn.\u2019 She noted that if abortion is illegal, it will be \u2018very difficult for abortion clinics to survive and be open.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake sides with the gun lobby over the safety of our communities, including saying she would not recognize federal gun safety laws if she were governor.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Independent<\/a>: \u201cDonald Trump\u2019s preferred candidate for governor of Arizona has vowed not \u2018recognize\u2019 federal gun laws<\/strong> if elected in November and dared the federal government to stop her. What are the Feds going to do?\u2019 Ms Lake asked in a tweet. \u2018Fly down here and arrest a sitting Governor? Call my bluff.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cIn June, as Congress was on the verge of passing a gun law that includes grants to states to implement red flag laws, Lake indicated she would reject it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PolitiFact<\/a>: \u201cLake has consistently opposed red flag laws. <\/strong>In a Sept. 21, 2021, interview with GunFreedomRadio, she said she saw no need for them. She later tweeted the same point. \u2018The entire Country should be a sanctuary for the Second Amendment,\u2019 Lake tweeted Sept. 24, 2021, \u2018No red flag Laws. No magazine capacity bans. No \u2018Gun-Free\u2019 Zones. Shall. Not. Be. Infringed.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like Trump, Lake supports repealing the Affordable Care Act \u2013 which is providing millions of Americans with health care.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

HuffPost<\/a>: \u201cKari Lake called for repealing the Affordable Care Act<\/strong> at a campaign event on Monday, bringing up an issue all but forgotten by her Republican Party. \u2018We need a red wave, and we need to overturn Obamacare and come up with something better,\u2019 Lake said at a campaign event in Scottsdale.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake has embraced dictators and far-right extremists, spouted white nationalist talking points, and seemingly encouraged political violence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Matters<\/a>: \u201cLake\u2019s connections to political extremists in the media are not new.<\/strong> A longtime local TV newscaster who is endorsed by former President Donald Trump, she has appeared with a Nazi-sympathizing YouTuber, QAnon activists, and once endorsed a far-right, antisemitic streamer running for Oklahoma state Senate.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Matters<\/a>: \u201cKari Lake has embraced numerous antisemitic media figures<\/strong> in the relatively short time that she has been in politics. These figures have said that Jewish people are \u2018lethal enemies of Americans\u2019 and \u2018must be stopped and then scoured from the continent\u2019; defended the Nazis as \u2018protecting their sovereignty\u2019; and said, \u2018I\u2019m not beholden to Jews.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newsweek<\/a>: \u201cLake added that U.S. media is going after what she called \u2018the truth tellers and the peacemakers,\u2019 which she said included Trump and Hungary\u2019s populist prime minister, Viktor Orb\u00e1n.<\/strong> \u2018I hear those two men talking about peace, but I hear the saber-rattling and the drum beat of \u201clet\u2019s start a war\u201d from a lot of these countries with globalist-type political leaders,\u2019 Lake said.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
