Today, on the three year anniversary of the American Rescue Plan being signed into law after passing without a single Republican vote, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThree years ago, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan into law, delivering critical relief to hardworking Americans and putting the country on a path toward recovery, all while the GOP sat on their hands. President Biden\u2019s ARP cut child poverty, lowered health insurance premiums for millions, bolstered small businesses, and provided funding for local law enforcement \u2013 so it\u2019s not hard to understand why Republicans wanted to claim credit after fighting it at every turn. Unfortunately for the GOP, Americans remember that President Biden and Democrats supported their families when they needed it most, while MAGA Republicans left them behind.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not a single congressional Republican supported or voted for the American Rescue Plan\u2026 but they have had no problem touting its benefits. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCongressional Republicans are walking a tightrope between promoting parts of President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion economic relief package that are popular with their voters \u2014 while also bashing the overall law as a costly boondoggle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery Republican in Congress voted against the sweeping pandemic relief bill that President Joe Biden signed into law three months ago. But since the early spring votes, Republicans from New York and Indiana to Texas and Washington state have promoted elements of the legislation they fought to defeat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Biden\u2019s American Rescue plan expanded the Child Tax Credit for working families, lowered health insurance premiums for millions of Americans, boosted small businesses, and helped keep our communities safe. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

White House Fact Sheet<\/a>: \u201cThe American Rescue Plan increased the Child Tax Credit from $2,000 per child to $3,000 per child for children over the age of six and from $2,000 to $3,600 for children under the age of six, and raised the age limit from 16 to 17. All working families will get the full credit if they make up to $150,000 for a couple or $112,500 for a family with a single parent (also called Head of Household).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Child Tax Credit in the American Rescue Plan provides the largest child tax credit ever and historic relief to the most working families ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
