In response to the RNC\u2019s announcement of self-described <\/em>\u201cconspiracy theorist\u201d <\/em><\/a>Christina Bobb as new in-house senior counsel, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChristina Bobb is a self-described \u2018conspiracy theorist\u2019 who will fit right in with the far-right extremists and election deniers who make up the new MAGA senior leadership at the RNC. Bobb has made a name for herself with Trump by attempting to undermine the will of voters in the 2020 election \u2013 it has never been more clear that our democracy is on the ballot this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New RNC senior counsel Christina Bobb is an election denier and self-described \u201cconspiracy theorist\u201d who has a record of going on QAnon-supporting shows.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cLaCivita is installing Christina Bobb \u2014 a former OAN reporter who has espoused false claims that the 2020 election was stolen<\/strong> \u2014 as senior counsel for election integrity. Bobb is the author of a book called \u2018Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024\u2019 and promoted the audit of Arizona elections.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Matters<\/a>: \u201cWithin a two-week span, Christina Bobb, an attorney for former President Donald Trump, has gone on multiple online shows affiliated with the QAnon conspiracy theory<\/strong> movement to promote her new book about supposed election fraud. During her appearances, Bobb has discussed being part of Trump\u2019s 2024 presidential campaign, pushed false claims of election fraud, and floated new conspiracy theories, while calling herself \u2018a conspiracy theorist.<\/strong>\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBobb, who joined Trump\u2019s legal team last year, was previously an anchor for the far-right One America News Network. While at OAN, Bobb was a prolific spreader of false claims that the 2020 presidential election was rigged<\/strong>, and she financially supported the sham \u2018audit\u2019 of ballots cast in 2020 in Maricopa County, Arizona.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After Trump\u2019s extreme MAGA minions took over the RNC, the committee began laying off more than 60 staffers as part of a \u201cbloodbath\u201d mass firing.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u2019s newly installed leadership team at the Republican National Committee on Monday began the process of pushing out dozens of officials, according to two people close to the Trump campaign and the RNC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll told, the expectation is that more than 60 RNC staffers who work across the political, communications and data departments will be let go. Those being asked to resign include five members of the senior staff, though the names were not made public. Additionally, some vendor contracts are expected to be cut.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RNC is in disarray after some of its worst fundraising numbers in decades headed into an election year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fox News<\/a>: \u201cDemocrats hold vast fundraising advantage as Republicans face cash problems, disarray in crucial swing states\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAccording to year-end reports filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) this week, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) holds nearly three times the cash on hand <\/strong>reported by the Republican National Committee (RNC), and brought in nearly three times as much fundraising<\/strong> in the final month of 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe RNC reported its worst fundraising year since 2013<\/strong> raising just $87.2 million in 2023, and starting 2024 with just over $8 million in cash on hand. If adjusted for inflation, the RNC’s fundraising was last this low in 1993<\/strong> \u2014 before the 2002 McCain Feingold Act restricted political committee fundraising from corporations and capped donations from individuals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cThe Republican National Committee continued to show signs of financial strain when compared with the war chest of the Democratic National Committee, reporting just $8.7 million in cash on hand to the DNC\u2019s $24 million.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThe Democratic National Committee also maintained its cash advantage over its Republican counterpart. The DNC raised $17.4 million in January and ended the month with $24 million in cash on hand. The Republican National Committee raised $11.6 million and closed the month with $8.7 million in cash on hand.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cThe RNC reported this week that it had its worst fundraising year in almost a decade last year<\/strong> \u2014 entering 2024 with just $8 million in cash. Trump’s comments are a sign of him flexing muscle as the de facto head of the GOP, even though the soonest he could clinch the nomination is March.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New RNC Chair Michael Whatley is a dangerous election denier who parroted Trump\u2019s baseless lies about the 2020 election.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cMr. Trump likes Mr. Whatley for one overwhelming reason, according to people who have discussed him with the former president: He is \u2018a stop the steal guy,\u2019<\/strong> as one of the people described him. He endorses Mr. Trump\u2019s false claims about mass voter fraud \u2026 Mr. Whatley has baselessly claimed that election security efforts from Republicans in North Carolina stopped Democrats from cheating.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cLikely frontrunner for RNC chair parroted Trump\u2019s 2020 election lies\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMichael Whatley, the chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, shared false claims that Republican observers were prevented from accessing polling locations and repeatedly said Democratic cities in swing states were engaged in \u2018massive fraud.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHis elevation to RNC chair could give Trump a loyalist more willing to devote resources to pursue future voter fraud claims in court should they arise.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Regardless of how these lawsuits come out around the country with the presidential race we do know that there was massive fraud that took place,\u2019 Whatley said in one late November 2020 interview on local North Carolina radio. \u2018We know that it took place in places like Milwaukee and Detroit and Philadelphia.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice<\/a>: \u201cNorth Carolina Republican chair Michael Whatley falsely claimed in February that \u2018we certainly saw evidence of voting irregularities, of election counting irregularities in a number of places around the country,\u2019 and invented the claim that the reason Trump won North Carolina was his state party\u2019s vigilance against Democrats\u2019 attempts to cheat.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whatley has failed to condemn a state House GOP candidate with ties to a neo-Nazi organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis year, however, the state GOP, led by Chair Michael Whatley, has remained silent on a candidate with ties to a neo-Nazi organization.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJoseph Gibson III, a Rockingham County podcaster with past felony convictions, is running for a state House seat. \u2026 After Gibson was approved to be on the ballot, Whatley \u2014 who is now running to be chair of the Republican National Committee with former President Donald Trump\u2019s support \u2014 did not publicly condemn his candidacy.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Anti-Defamation League found that Gibson had ties to the neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement and referred to him as a \u2018white supremacist and anti-government extremist.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe ADL\u2019s report said Gibson participated in livestream events hosted by the NSM and in one instance messaged the channel saying \u201888,\u2019 a dog whistle used by white supremacists to mean \u2018Heil Hitler.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump endorsed his daughter-in-law Lara to be co-chair of the RNC as part of his attempt to complete a total MAGA rebrand of the Republican Party.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
