In response to MAGA Republicans remaining silent and even defending Donald Trump promising a \u201cbloodbath\u201d if he loses, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement<\/em><\/strong>:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump has spent years threatening and defending political violence, and no one should know better how dangerous he is for our democracy than members of Congress who were in the United States Capitol on January 6. Once again, Trump\u2019s MAGA allies are turning a blind eye as Trump promises a \u2018bloodbath\u2019 if he loses. This is the same man who has repeatedly pledged to pardon violent insurrectionists who stormed our Capitol, applauded \u2018very fine people\u2019 at the white supremacist Charlottesville rally, and constantly praises brutal dictators. Republicans will try to hide behind weak excuses, but their silence and refusal to condemn Trump\u2019s appalling and violent rhetoric speaks volumes with voters, who will reject Trump and the GOP\u2019s dangerous extremism in November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cIf I don\u2019t get elected, it\u2019s gonna be a bloodbath for the whole- that\u2019s going to be the least of it. It\u2019s going to be a bloodbath for the country.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 MAGA Republicans once again quickly rushed to his defense.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201cReaction to Trump\u2019s speech: When is \u2018a bloodbath\u2019 not a bloodbath?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) also accepted the interpretation of Trump\u2019s \u2018bloodbath\u2019 as pertaining to the American auto industry.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSen. Bill Cassidy (R-La.), speaking on NBC\u2019s \u2018Meet the Press,\u2019 also said he was dubious about the uproar over Trump\u2019s language Saturday. \u2026  Cassidy said the press must bear some blame for interpreting Trump\u2019s remarks in the worst possible light.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump is once again facing intense criticism for his extreme and dangerous rhetoric.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cTrump Defends His Warning of a \u2018Blood Bath for the Country\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump continues to praise and embrace violent January 6 rioters \u2013 including calling them \u201chostages\u201d and \u201cpatriots\u201d and vowing to pardon \u201ca large portion\u201d of those who attacked our Capitol. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
