In case you missed it: The Republican Study Committee proposed a new extreme MAGA budget that pushes Donald Trump\u2019s unpopular priorities, including cuts to Social Security and Medicare; Trump once again signaled his support for a national abortion ban; he also doubled down on his endorsement of political violence and used dehumanizing rhetoric to describe undocumented immigrants at a campaign rally in Ohio; he claimed that Jews who do not support him are antisemitic; and he is considering hiring convicted felon Paul Manafort and scandal-plagued Corey Lewandowski to help with the Republican National Convention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Trump is still centering his campaign on the January 6 riot, he is still coming after the Affordable Care Act, and he is still underperforming in the GOP primary; new RNC Chair Michael Whatley somehow thinks Americans are worse off today than they were during Trump\u2019s disastrous presidency; Trump is considering conspiracy theorist Vivek Ramaswamy to lead the Department of Homeland Security; and MAGA extremist Lauren Boebert became the latest Republican to take credit for federal money brought into her district that she voted against.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Republican Study Committee took inspiration from Donald Trump\u2019s extreme agenda for their new budget proposal, which includes an extreme national abortion ban and ending Social Security and Medicare as we know them.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/house-republicans-national-abortion-ban-endorse-1234991746\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cHouse Republicans Endorse National Abortion Ban\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4545807-biden-campaign-houses-conservative-caucus-budget-is-pulled-from-trumps-2025-wish-list\/\">The Hill<\/a>: \u201cThe budget also backs legislation that would put restrictions on abortion, which could threaten in vitro fertilization (IVF).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.bgov.com\/bloomberg-government-news\/republicans-call-for-retirement-age-hike-in-clash-with-biden\">Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cRepublicans Call for Retirement Age Hike in Clash With Biden\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/pro\/health-care-policy\/2024\/03\/20\/rsc-budget-republican-health-priorities\">Axios<\/a>: \u201cRSC budget revives conservative health priorities\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe health care section \u2026 <strong>calls for killing the Inflation Reduction Act and its drug price provisions. \u2026 It would remove many of the Affordable Care Act&#8217;s protections for pre-existing conditions.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloombergtax.com\/daily-tax-report\/house-gop-group-budget-plan-seeks-tax-cuts-business-breaks\">Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cThe conservative Republican Study Committee is out with a 2025 budget proposal to extend individual and corporate breaks from the 2017 Trump\u2019 tax law.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2024\/03\/20\/republican-study-committee-kevin-hern-2025-budget-proposal-section-aimed-rolling-back-bidens-gun-agenda\/#:~:text=The%20RSC's%20budget%20proposes%20implementing,firearm%20transaction%20records%20on%20file.%E2%80%9D\">Daily Caller<\/a>: \u201cThe RSC supports defunding the \u2018red flag\u2019 provisions from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, according to the budget proposal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump once again signaled that he would back a national abortion ban.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/03\/20\/us\/politics\/trump-15-week-federal-abortion-ban.html\">New York Times<\/a>: \u201cTrump Indicates He Would Back a 15-Week Federal Abortion Ban\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe comments, which Mr. Trump made Tuesday on the WABC radio show \u2018Sid &amp; Friends in the Morning,\u2019 are in line with previous reporting that he had privately expressed support for a 16-week ban. But saying it publicly ties him concretely to a position that has been toxic for many Republicans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4545099-trump-tests-15-week-abortion-ban\/\">The Hill<\/a>: \u201c\u2018The number of weeks now, people are agreeing on 15, and I\u2019m thinking in terms of that, and it\u2019ll come out to something that\u2019s very reasonable,\u2019 Trump said on a New York-based radio show. \u2018But people are really, even hard-liners are agreeing \u2026 15 weeks seems to be a number that people are agreeing at. But I\u2019ll make that announcement at the appropriate time.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>At a rally in Ohio, Trump promised a \u201cbloodbath\u201d if he loses in November and said undocumented immigrants are \u201cnot people.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/campaign\/4537369-trump-says-some-undocumented-immigrants-are-not-people-warns-us-will-see-bloodbath-if-not-re-elected\/\">The Hill<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Trump denounced some undocumented immigrants as \u2018not people\u2019 and warned of a \u2018blood bath\u2019 if he is not reelected at a chaotic rally in Ohio on Saturday night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018I don\u2019t know if you call them people,\u2019 he said at the rally. \u2018In some cases they\u2019re not people, in my opinion. But I\u2019m not allowed to say that because the radical left says that\u2019s a terrible thing to say.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrump also predicted a dire scene if he loses the November election, claiming Biden would tank the U.S. economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018If I don\u2019t get elected, it\u2019s going to be a blood bath for the whole \u2014 that\u2019s going to be the least of it. It\u2019s going to be a blood bath for the country,\u2019 Trump said while discussing his proposal for steep tariffs on vehicle imports.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump doubled down on his antisemitic record by claiming that Jews who vote for Democrats \u201chate Israel\u201d and \u201chate their religion.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1769830408235978900?s=20\">Trump<\/a>: \u201cAny Jewish person that votes for Democrats, hates their religion, they hate everything about Israel, and they should be ashamed of themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/03\/18\/us\/politics\/trump-israel-jewish-voters.html\">New York Times<\/a>: \u201cTrump Says Jews Who Support Democrats \u2018Hate Israel\u2019 and \u2018Their Religion\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/trump-jewish-voters-democrats-antisemitism-a43bf6f6266d9c6a4b761b82281aa512\">Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cUS Jews upset with Trump&#8217;s latest rhetoric say he doesn&#8217;t get to tell them how to be Jewish\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo many Jewish leaders in a demographic that has overwhelmingly identified as Democratic and supported President Joe Biden in 2020, Trump\u2019s latest comments promoted harmful antisemitic stereotypes, painting Jews as having divided loyalties and that there\u2019s only one right way to be Jewish religiously.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Despite the RNC and his campaign\u2019s continued cash-strapped chaos, Trump is considering reuniting with Corey Lewandowski and convicted felon Paul Manafort to help run the Republican National Convention.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/03\/18\/us\/politics\/manafort-rnc-trump.html\">New York Times<\/a>: Manafort in Talks to Return for the Republican National Convention&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/03\/19\/us\/politics\/corey-lewandowski-republican-national-convention.html\">New York Times<\/a>: Corey Lewandowski, Another Ousted Trump Official, May Get Republican Convention Role&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/03\/20\/trump-far-righters-return\">Axios<\/a>: \u201cTrump&#8217;s team is in talks to hire 2016 campaign advisers Paul Manafort and Corey Lewandowski, The Washington Post and The New York Times first reported. Manafort spent two years in prison on a 7\u00bd-year sentence for bank and tax fraud before being freed because of the COVID pandemic. Lewandowski, who was fired in 2016 as Trump&#8217;s first campaign manager, was removed from a pro-Trump PAC in 2021 after the wife of a major donor accused him of inappropriate behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLongtime political operative and Trump confidant Roger Stone \u2014 who was convicted of obstructing a congressional probe into Trump&#8217;s 2016 campaign and sentenced to 40 months in prison before Trump commuted the sentence \u2014 has been a frequent presence at Mar-a-Lago lately.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump continues to center his campaign around the Big Lie and claims that January 6 insurrectionists are \u201chostages\u201d and \u201cpatriots\u201d who ought to be pardoned.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/donald-trump-jan-6-pardons-2024-campaign-2401ead35cb1402a7b289c2c99761373\">Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cTrump is making the Jan. 6 attack a cornerstone of his bid for theWhite House\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRepublican Donald Trump has launched his general election campaign not merely rewriting the history of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack, but positioning the violent siege and its failed attempt to overturn the 2020 election as a cornerstone of his bid to return to the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt a weekend rally in Ohio, his first as the presumed Republican Party presidential nominee, Trump stood onstage, his hand raised in salute to the brim of his red MAGA hat, as a recorded chorus of prisoners in jail for their roles in the Jan. 6 attack sang the national anthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAn announcer asked the crowd to please rise \u2018for the horribly and unfairly treated January 6th hostages.\u2019 And people did, and sang along.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018They were unbelievable patriots,\u2019 Trump said as the recording ended.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.semafor.com\/article\/03\/18\/2024\/donald-trump-january-6\">Semafor<\/a>: \u201cHow Donald Trump learned to love the January 6 prisoner movement\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe former president and presumptive 2024 Republican presidential nominee has put the devoted supporters charged with January 6 crimes at the heart of his campaign. He began his first major campaign rally last March firing up the Waco, Texas crowd by playing \u2018Justice for All,\u2019 a song he helped produce with the \u2018J6 Prison Choir.\u2019 It has since become a staple of his events. analysis of preliminary exit poll results.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RNC Chair Michael Whatley asked voters if they were better off today than four years ago, when the stock market was in free fall and store shelves were left barren during Trump\u2019s failed COVID response.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/biden-trump-bloodbath-better-off-f569346d886a2b4725b2f90d243d303d\">Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cBiden is using the \u2018are you better off today\u2019 question to contrast himself with Trump\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018Speaking of Donald Trump, just a few days ago, he asked the famous question at one of his rallies: Are you better off today than you were four years ago?\u2019 Biden said at a pair of Dallas-area campaign fundraisers, one of which brought in $2.5 million, one of the hosts said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018Well Donald, I\u2019m glad you asked that question man because I hope everyone in the country takes a moment to think back when it was like in March of 2020,\u2019 Biden said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Democratic president reminded the audience that the coronavirus had reached America, hospital emergency rooms were overcrowded, first responders were risking their lives to care for the sick and some nurses wore trash bags due to the scarcity of personal protective equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMorgues were being set up outside of hospitals because so many people were dying, unemployment shot up, the stock market crashed and grocery store shelves were bare, Biden said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018And we were even in a toilet paper crisis,\u2019 he added, before he began to describe a turnaround after Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018Donald Trump is no longer president, that\u2019s the first thing,\u2019 Biden said, adding that COVID is under control, 15 million jobs returned and the stock market rebounded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s also a view that the public largely has forgotten the turbulence of Trump\u2019s presidency and that, to win reelection, Biden needs to remind them of what it was like as he presents himself as the more stable alternative.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump is eyeing MAGA conspiracy theorist Vivek Ramaswamy to head up the Department of Homeland Security.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/2024-election\/vivek-ramaswamy-shares-familys-citizenship-story-shaped-two-hardline-p-rcna107981\">Ramaswamy<\/a>: \u201cI want to be very clear about this.
