In response to Mike Johnson attempting to <\/em>dodge<\/em><\/a> his record of co-sponsoring a national abortion ban, <\/em>DNC spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMike Johnson has spent his entire career waging a war on women\u2019s basic reproductive freedoms \u2014 his sad attempt at dodging a simple question isn\u2019t fooling anyone. The reality is Johnson co-sponsored legislation to ban abortion nationwide and threaten IVF access, applauded Trump as he overturned Roe v. Wade<\/em>, and has gone on way too many bizarre rants against reproductive health care access. Johnson can pretend he forgot his extreme and unpopular anti-choice record, but the American people will remember this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike Johnson: We know you conveniently \u201cforgot\u201d you co-sponsored a national abortion ban when asked on live TV\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jake Tapper<\/a>: \u201cIf Donald Trump does win and if the Republicans keep the majority, will you bring the national abortion ban up for a vote?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mike Johnson: \u201cI don’t even know what you’re talking about.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jake Tapper: \u201cYou said you didn\u2019t know what I meant by a national abortion ban \u2014 I meant the [Life at Conception Act], which you were a co-sponsor of.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2026 so here\u2019s a list of your positions, for future reference:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. You and 125 of Donald Trump\u2019s other MAGA minions have <\/strong>co-sponsored<\/strong><\/a> the <\/strong>\u201cLife at Conception Act,\u201d<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>which would ban abortion and threaten IVF access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. You\u2019re a huge fan of Trump, who was able to <\/strong>\u201cproudly\u201d<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>\u201ckill\u201d<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, and rejoiced<\/a> when he <\/strong>\u201cterminated\u201d<\/a> reproductive freedoms.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. You\u2019ve <\/strong>voted<\/strong><\/a> for <\/strong>national abortion bans<\/strong><\/a>, including one that would <\/strong>imprison<\/strong><\/a> doctors<\/strong>, earning you an A+ rating from Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. You\u2019ve <\/strong>discredited<\/strong><\/a> the fact that abortion bans harm women,<\/strong> saying you \u201ccan\u2019t believe\u201d the reality<\/a> that women are facing life-threatening situations<\/a> \u201cwould be true.\u201d <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. You <\/strong>support<\/strong><\/a> Louisiana\u2019s <\/strong>extreme abortion ban<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>that does not provide exceptions for rape or incest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. You went on an unhinged \u2014 and frankly, bizarre \u2014 <\/strong>rant<\/strong><\/a> against access to medication abortion and telemedicine<\/strong>, which women rely on for reproductive care.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. You <\/strong>blamed<\/strong><\/a> school shootings on abortion.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
