In response to a <\/em>recently indicted fake elector from Arizona being elevated to national RNC committeeman<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOnly in Donald Trump\u2019s GOP does being indicted for trying to overturn the 2020 election results lead to an immediate promotion joining Trump\u2019s team of anti-democracy extremists at the RNC. Trump\u2019s MAGA takeover of the GOP is putting extreme election deniers at the forefront of the Republican Party and making clear that democracy is on the ballot this November, when voters in Arizona and across the country will once again reject Trump and MAGA Republicans\u2019 continued assault on our democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: A recently indicted fake elector from Arizona has been tapped to be a national RNC committeeman.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cThe Arizona GOP has selected state Sen. Jake Hoffman, a \u2018fake elector\u2019 indicted last week and accused of working to overturn President Joe Biden\u2019s 2020 win in Arizona, as a national committeeman for the Republican National Committee.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cArizona state senator indicted in fake electors scheme is tapped for RNC position\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHoffman sent a two-page letter to former Vice President Mike Pence on January 5, 2021, asking him to order that Arizona\u2019s electors not be decided by the popular vote of the citizens, but instead by the members of the state legislature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The RNC\u2019s in-house conspiracy theorist and senior counsel Christina Bobb was also indicted last week for her efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSNBC<\/a>: \u201cRNC\u2019s \u2018election integrity\u2019 lawyer charged in Arizona with election crimes\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cLaCivita is installing Christina Bobb \u2014 a former OAN reporter who has espoused false claims that the 2020 election was stolen<\/strong> \u2014 as senior counsel for election integrity.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201c[Bobb] also played a key role in the Trump campaign\u2019s fake electors scheme <\/strong>after he lost the 2020 election, working closely with Trump advisers to organize the plan in seven battleground states. The scheme formed the basis of parts of Smith\u2019s election subversion indictment against the former president, which says Trump and his allies created \u2018fraudulent slates of presidential electors to obstruct the certification proceeding\u2019 in Congress on January 6, 2021, and \u2018disenfranchise millions of voters.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cA self-described conspiracy theorist and election denier,<\/strong> Ms. Bobb will take on a role overseeing Republican election integrity efforts \u2014 after years of aggressively promoting false claims about the 2020 election. Her appointment reflects the ascendant role of election deniers in Republican leadership and in Mr. Trump\u2019s presidential campaign.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump\u2019s MAGA takeover of the RNC has elevated extreme election deniers like Michael Whatley and Lara Trump.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
