In response to the news that top RNC legal counsel was \u201cpushed out\u201d for questioning Trump\u2019s Big Lie, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u2019s MAGA takeover of the RNC has already led to mass staff firings and an election denier litmus test for new hires \u2014 and now the committee\u2019s top lawyer is the latest GOP official purged for disagreeing with Trump\u2019s dangerous conspiracy theories about the 2020 election. Trump continues to push the Big Lie along with the rest of his extreme MAGA agenda while trying to bend the Republican Party to his will. His own staff don\u2019t believe his unhinged conspiracy theories, and neither do the American people, who are ready to reject Trump and his attacks on our democracy once again this November.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: Charlie Spies was reportedly <\/strong>\u201c<\/strong>pushed out<\/strong>\u201d<\/strong><\/a> of the RNC for criticizing Trump\u2019s unhinged conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election (which Trump lost by 7 million votes). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe top lawyer at the Republican Party is resigning after he cited conflicts with his other work and with Donald Trump, who grew angry about his criticism of the former president\u2019s false claims that the 2020 election was stolen,<\/strong> people familiar with the situation said Saturday night.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cRepublican National Committee chief counsel Charlie Spies is parting ways with the party apparatus just months after stepping into the role. He was \u2018pushed out,\u2019 according to a source familiar with the move.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And speaking at an RNC retreat in Florida yesterday, Trump <\/strong>once again <\/em><\/strong>doubled down on his false claims about the 2020 election\u2026and threatened to do the same this election cycle. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cPeople seeking employment at the Republican National Committee have been asked in recent job interviews whether they believe the 2020 election was stolen, according to two sources familiar with the questioning. <\/strong>Over the past few weeks, Trump advisers have asked those seeking employment at the RNC about their views of fraud during the 2020 election, with the question serving as an apparent litmus test for hiring, the sources said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spies\u2019s ouster is the latest in a long list of headlines showcasing the Trump RNC\u2019s Big Lie problem. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cLaCivita is installing Christina Bobb \u2014 a former OAN reporter who has espoused false claims that the 2020 election was stolen<\/strong> \u2014 as senior counsel for election integrity. Bobb is the author of a book called \u2018Stealing Your Vote: The Inside Story of the 2020 Election and What It Means for 2024\u2019 and promoted the audit of Arizona elections.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
