Ahead of President Biden\u2019s visit to New Hampshire, <\/em>DNC spokesperson Addy Toevs<\/em><\/strong> released the following statement: <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPresident Biden has always shown up for America\u2019s servicemembers and veterans \u2014 from championing the historic PACT Act to expanding and strengthening the Department of Veterans Affairs. In contrast, Donald Trump mocked those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, calling them \u2018losers\u2019 and \u2018suckers.\u2019 New Hampshire veterans know that there is just one candidate on the ballot who will fight for them instead of tearing them down. In November, they\u2019ll make that choice clear when they send President Biden back to the Oval Office for four more years.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWhen President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, near Paris, in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that \u2018the helicopter couldn\u2019t fly\u2019 and that the Secret Service wouldn\u2019t drive him there. Neither claim was true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, \u2018Why should I go to that cemetery? It\u2019s filled with losers.\u2019 In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as \u2018suckers\u2019 for getting killed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Military<\/strong><\/a>: \u201cElderly Vets Could Face Benefits Cut Under Trump Budget\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cJohn Rowan, national president of Vietnam Veterans of America, said the IU cuts and the entire Trump budget proposal would \u2018completely abandon many of the most severely disabled veterans of the Vietnam generation and could make thousands of elderly veterans homeless.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018We’re extremely alarmed by this budget proposal, because this is the opposite of what President Trump promised veterans,\u2019 Rowan said.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Biden is delivering for New Hampshire veterans and voters, and will continue to empower them in his second term.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVeterans\u2019 care in the United States set all-time records in fiscal year 2023, \u2018shattering\u2019 the agency\u2019s performance in previous years, in large part because of an expansion of benefits under the Biden administration, U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Denis McDonough said Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMcDonough spoke at the National Press Club less than a week out from Veterans Day and a little over a year after President Joe Biden signed a law that opened benefits eligibility for up to 3.5 million post-9\/11 veterans, and for those who served during the Vietnam and Cold War eras.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBiden administration officials said Friday the Department of Veterans Affairs will expand health care coverage for certain groups of veterans and their families and create new programs meant to make care more accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe administration will also create a new graduate medical education program to help expand health care availability for veterans in rural, tribal and other underserved communities, the department said. And the VA will spend $5 million on an advertising campaign aimed at having more veterans sign up for services.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The White House<\/strong><\/a>: <\/strong>\u201c2.6% unemployment rate in New Hampshire, with 55.8K new jobs created under the Biden Administration including 385 jobs in clean energy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
