As MAGA House Republicans continue to rail against the bipartisan border security bill because Donald Trump directed them to do so, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump\u2019s MAGA allies in the House GOP once claimed that border security was \u2018a job for Congress<\/a>\u2019 and it was \u2018time to act with urgency<\/a>\u2019 to address it because \u2018we can\u2019t wait any longer<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 until Trump put his political ambitions first and directed them to blow up the bipartisan border security deal. House Republicans are now being given another chance to put the American people ahead of partisan politics \u2013 but if MAGA Republicans side with Trump\u2019s political games over border security again, voters will make sure they pay the price at the ballot box this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMINDER: Donald Trump\u2019s House GOP MAGA minions fell in line after he directed Republicans to tank the bipartisan border deal and do nothing to improve border security this year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cTrump, House Republicans plot to kill border deal\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vox<\/a>: \u201cTrump made this clear when he reportedly urged Republicans in Congress to turn against the bipartisan Senate border security bill scheduled for a vote Wednesday so that he could keep the issue alive through the presidential election.<\/strong> His supporters have largely fallen in line.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cTrump, who is hoping to make immigration a key plank of his presidential campaign, has suggested on Truth Social that approving additional resources for the border would make Republicans \u2018look bad.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rolling Stone<\/a>: \u201cBorder Patrol Supports \u2018Strong\u2019 Immigration Deal. Republicans Don\u2019t Care\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cPlease blame it on me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cI think [Republicans] are making a terrible mistake if they vote for the bill.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cThe border compromise would represent a dramatic change of immigration law on lines many Republicans have long supported.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson continues to call the bipartisan border security bill \u201c<\/strong>dead on arrival<\/strong><\/a>\u201d even though he has repeatedly called for action to secure the border and has said it \u201cis a job for Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cIf the GOP can capture total control of the government \u2026 [Johnson] said border security would be at the top of the legislative agenda right out of the gate.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cOur immigration system is broken. Reforming that system is a job for Congress.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cThe crisis at our southern border has deteriorated to such an extent that significant action can wait no longer.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cI do think it\u2019s past time to secure the border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cWe must insist \u2014 must insist \u2014 that the border be the top priority.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson<\/a>: \u201cI have said that very clearly from day one, we have to solve the [border] problem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik said the bipartisan border deal is an \u201c<\/strong>absolute non-starter<\/strong><\/a>\u201d but has repeatedly said the top priority for House Republicans was securing the border.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefanik<\/a>: \u201cOur top priority is securing the southern border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefanik<\/a>: \u201cThe reality is the House Republicans are going to stand up for border security on behalf of the American people,<\/strong> because we know that is the top concern among Americans, not just Republicans, but Independents and Democrat voters as well.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stefanik<\/a>: \u201cI know that the Speaker\u2019s top priority is securing the border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guardian<\/a>: \u201c\u2018We don\u2019t support shutting down the government,\u2019 Stefanik said. \u2018But we must secure the border.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Multiple House Republicans have warned their own colleagues against politicizing border security and delaying taking action.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tom Emmer<\/a>: \u201cWhy does it have to be a political issue when it’s the right thing to do to seal our own border and make sure that good people that want to come here for the right reasons are able to come here?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chip Roy<\/a>: \u201cIt\u2019s time to act with urgency. Urgency means not waiting for the next election.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michael McCaul<\/a>: \u201cI think [the border] is a very urgent problem. We can\u2019t wait a year.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bryan Steil<\/a>: \u201c<\/strong>I\u2019m less concerned about who gets the win other than making sure the American people win, and the American people win if we truly secure the US-Mexico border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Patrick McHenry<\/a>: \u201cWe have bipartisan support. \u2026 Take the moment, man.<\/strong> Take the policy win.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dan Crenshaw<\/a>: \u201cI\u2019m extremely disappointed in the strange maneuvering by many on the right to torpedo a potential border reform bill. \u2026 It would be an unacceptable dereliction of [their] duty.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

James Comer<\/a>: \u201cWe expect the number one policy initiative should be to secure the border.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-thirds of Americans support the bipartisan border security deal that Trump directed MAGA Republicans to reject.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
