Trump chose Whatley to lead the RNC because of his extreme election denier track record and willingness to put Trump\u2019s commands over our democracy. In case we needed a reminder, Whatley is making it clear that our democracy is on the ballot this election, and the American people will once again reject Trump and the MAGA GOP\u2019s dangerous agenda.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW: Michael Whatley fails to say he would unequivocally accept the results of November\u2019s election.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/atrupar\/status\/1795823440055689653?s=46&amp;t=6J2Rg0xlpXzsMEH0tz2hAw\">Michael Whatley<\/a>: \u201cThey want to try and put Republicans in a box and say that they won\u2019t accept the election results.<strong> The fact of the matter is when we have fair elections, when we get the results that are going to be fair, accurate, secure, and transparent, then we\u2019re going to accept those. <\/strong>Look, I look forward to having President Trump back in the White House.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Donald Trump hand-picked Michael Whatley to lead the RNC because he embraces Trump\u2019s MAGA election denialism.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/climate-environment\/2024\/05\/23\/trump-oil-industry-pipelines-campaign-money\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201c<strong>Trump repeated his false claims of the 2020 election being stolen and said that Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley was the most important person in the room because he is \u2018going to stop the cheating.\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018We call it save the vote, guard the vote, stop the steal,\u2019 he said, referring to what the RNC needed to be doing.\u201d [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cHe said he picked Whatley for the job because he did not lose North Carolina \u2018in the middle of the night\u2019 like he did some other states, when he alleged more ballots came in to cost him the election.<\/strong> Before his current position, Whatley was chair of North Carolina\u2019s Republican Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c\u2018If you talk about it, you\u2019re a denier,\u2019 he said of his false claims of the 2020 election, according to the notes. <strong>\u2018I\u2019m the greatest denier in history.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/02\/06\/us\/politics\/ronna-mcdaniel-rnc-trump.html\">New York Times<\/a>: <strong>\u201cMr. Trump likes Mr. Whatley for one overwhelming reason, according to people who have discussed him with the former president: He is \u2018a stop the steal guy,\u2019<\/strong> as one of the people described him.
