As Trump VP contender Ben Carson speaks at the Turning Point Action conference in Michigan, <\/em>DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBen Carson has repeatedly matched Donald Trump\u2019s own unpopular and reckless MAGA extremism. He compared abortion to slavery, Social Security to a \u2018Ponzi scheme,\u2019 and can\u2019t even admit that Trump lost the last election. Trump and Carson are aligned in their far-right MAGA agenda, and the American people want nothing to do with either of them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson is an anti-choice extremist who has compared abortion to slavery and supports a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cBen Carson, clarifying his stance on abortion, told Bloomberg Politics he wouldn\u2019t support law that provides exceptions in cases of rape, incest.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cBen Carson said he would \u2018love\u2019 to see Roe vs. Wade overturned and make abortion illegal nationwide with almost no exemptions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BuzzFeed<\/a>: \u201cBen Carson Compares Abortion To Slavery.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson has refused to commit to accepting this November\u2019s election results, endorsed Trump\u2019s baseless falsehoods about the 2020 election, and refused to say if he would have certified the 2020 results.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura Coates, CNN<\/a>: \u201cWill you accept the results of the 2024 election regardless of who wins, yes or no?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson: \u201cI will accept the results if it\u2019s done in a fair and transparent way.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coates: \u201cDo you have reason to doubt that it would be done in a fair and transparent way?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson: \u201cWell let me put it this way: In the 2020 election, there were a lot of irregularities.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson<\/a> (Regent University): \u201cWell, there was plenty of fraud. There\u2019s no question about that. And I think everybody acknowledges that it was fraud. Well, we have people that say, \u2018Yes, there was fraud, but it wasn\u2019t enough fraud.\u2019 You\u2019ll notice that the courts really haven\u2019t looked at the evidence that exists. It\u2019s almost as if they\u2019re afraid to look at the evidence that exists.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

People<\/a>: \u201cBen Carson\u2026 demurred when asked whether he would have done what Pence did<\/strong> in a recent Fox News interview. \u2018Well, first off, people should know that Mike Pence spent a lot of time laboring over that decision,\u2019 Carson responded. \u2018I talked to him the night before and he was really torn over what was the appropriate thing to do.\u2019  Carson continued: \u2018I think it would have been appropriate, perhaps, to look at all of the alternative theories seriously because there was significant controversy about what had happened in the election.\u2019\u2026 Asked again if he believed what Pence did was \u2018right or not,\u2019 Carson said, \u2018I think the right thing would have been to try to focus on having a process that is legitimate.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carson and Trump want to repeal the Affordable Care Act and are coming after Social Security and Medicare.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
