In response to Donald Trump campaigning in Virginia with MAGA loyalist Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, DNC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy released the following statement:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday, as Donald Trump and Glenn Yougkin take the stage together, we are reminded that both of them are wildly out of touch with Virgnians\u2019 priorities. From Trump\u2019s attacks on women\u2019s freedoms to his disgusting comments about America\u2019s service members who died in war, Virginians know that Trump is not fit to lead them. Instead of focusing on Virginian priorities, Youngkin followed in Trump\u2019s MAGA footsteps as he attempted to force an extreme abortion ban on Virginia residents last year. Virginians had different plans: On Election Day, Republicans suffered humiliating losses as Virginians sent Youngkin and Trump a clear message and delivered Democratic majorities to both legislative chambers. Whether it\u2019s Donald Trump or Glenn Youngkin, one thing is certain: Voters across the Commonwealth will reject extreme MAGA attacks on their rights and values. Donald Trump will not win the state of Virginia.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Military Times<\/a>: \u201cCongressional investigators found evidence that the three men helped steer policy decisions on VA medical records issues and discussed ways to potentially monetize VA patient health data. Along with emails to senior VA staff, the trio also frequently contacted senior White House staff on VA policy issues and briefed the president on their proposals, all without any official federal role.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cV.A. Has Approved 1 Million Claims Under Burn Pit Law, Biden Announces\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPresident Biden announced on Tuesday that his administration had approved more than one million claims from veterans injured by toxic exposures during their service, actions made possible by a new law he championed, officials said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe president signed the Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics, or PACT, Act, into law in the summer of 2022, with the goal of quickly getting benefits to veterans who had been suffering from a variety of maladies that did not qualify for treatment by the Department of Veterans Affairs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite his lies, Trump made reprehensible comments about service members who died in war  \u2014 heroes who protected Americans freedoms \u2014 calling them \u201csuckers\u201d and \u201closers.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Axios<\/a>: \u201cFormer President Trump didn\u2019t want to visit a cemetery near Paris for Americans who fought and died in World War I because it was filled with \u2018suckers\u2019 and \u2018losers,\u2019 John Kelly, his longest-serving chief of staff, said in a statement to CNN on Monday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cThey stunned nearly everyone in the room, and some vowed that they would never repeat them. Indeed, they have not been reported until now. \u2018I wouldn\u2019t go to war with you people,\u2019 Trump told the assembled brass. Addressing the room, the commander in chief barked, \u2018You\u2019re a bunch of dopes and babies.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cBefore they could debate the Iran deal, Trump erupted to revive another frequent complaint: the war in Afghanistan, which was now America\u2019s longest war. He demanded an explanation for why the United States hadn\u2019t won in Afghanistan yet, now 16 years after the nation began fighting there in the wake of the 9\/11 terrorist attacks. Trump unleashed his disdain, calling Afghanistan a \u2018loser war.\u2019 That phrase hung in the air and disgusted not only the military leaders at the table but also the men and women in uniform sitting along the back wall behind their principals. They all were sworn to obey their commander in chief\u2019s commands, and here he was calling the war they had been fighting a loser war. \u2018You\u2019re all losers,\u2019 Trump said. \u2018You don\u2019t know how to win anymore.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Atlantic<\/a>: \u201cWhen President Donald Trump canceled a visit to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018, he blamed rain for the last-minute decision, saying that \u2018the helicopter couldn\u2019t fly\u2019 and that the Secret Service wouldn\u2019t drive him there. Neither claim was true. Trump rejected the idea of the visit because he feared his hair would become disheveled in the rain, and because he did not believe it important to honor American war dead, according to four people with firsthand knowledge of the discussion that day. In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, \u2018Why should I go to that cemetery? It\u2019s filled with losers.\u2019 In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as \u2018suckers\u2019 for getting killed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last fall, Virginia voters rejected Governor Glenn Youngkin and MAGA Republicans’ extreme attacks on reproductive rights. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
