As numerous former RNC convention speakers refuse to support Donald Trump (including his own former vice president, Mike Pence), <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou won\u2019t see Mike Pence taking the RNC stage with his former boss Donald Trump \u2014 or endorsing him at all, for that matter \u2014 because three and a half years ago, Trump put Pence\u2019s life and our democracy at risk on January 6. Pence isn\u2019t the only former convention speaker refusing to support Trump\u2019s dangerous, out-of-touch, and unpopular 2024 campaign. As the MAGA GOP gears up to nominate a convicted felon, prominent Republicans are disavowing him \u2014 and the American people will do the same at the ballot box this November.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s former vice president, Mike Pence, spoke at the <\/strong>last<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>two<\/strong><\/a> RNC conventions but has refused to endorse Trump\u2019s 2024 campaign. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cMike Pence said Friday that he would not endorse former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential race\u2026 \u2018It should come as no surprise that I will not be endorsing Donald Trump this year,\u2019 <\/strong>Pence said of his former running mate during a Fox News interview this afternoon. \u2026 \u2018I cannot in good conscience endorse Donald Trump in this campaign.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, a <\/strong>three<\/strong><\/a>–<\/strong>time<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>RNC<\/strong><\/a> convention speaker, has said he would \u201cabsolutely not\u201d vote for Trump. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cSen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, on Sunday said he won\u2019t be supporting former President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election\u2026 Romney, a frequent critic of Trump, heavily rebuked the former president in an exclusive interview on NBC News\u2019 \u2018Meet the Press.\u2019 He said Trump is \u2018dangerous for the country\u2019 because he carries \u2018authoritarian rulings and interests,\u2019 <\/strong>and called him \u2018a human gumball machine\u2019 that spouts out unfiltered thoughts to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cRomney on voting for Trump over Biden: \u2018No, no, no, absolutely not\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan spoke at the RNC convention in <\/strong>2012<\/strong><\/a> and <\/strong>2016<\/strong><\/a> but will not be voting for Trump in November. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cPaul Ryan says he won\u2019t vote for Trump<\/strong>: \u2018I\u2019m gonna write in a Republican\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Character is too important to me,\u2019 Ryan, who left Congress in 2019, told Yahoo Finance at the Milken Global Institute Conference. \u2018And it\u2019s a job that requires the kind of character that he just doesn\u2019t have.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Christie spoke at the <\/strong>2012<\/strong><\/a> and <\/strong>2016<\/strong><\/a> RNC conventions but now says he will not support Trump \u201cunder any circumstances.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cFormer New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) reiterated his opposition to former President Trump on Thursday, saying he won\u2019t vote for Trump \u2018under any circumstances<\/strong>.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former Ohio governor John Kasich spoke at the <\/strong>2012<\/strong><\/a> RNC convention but has now repeatedly rebuked Trump and his MAGA extremism. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cFormer Ohio governor and 2016 Republican presidential candidate John Kasich said Tuesday he\u2019s \u2018proud\u2019 of decisions he\u2019s made to publicly disavow former President Trump in the past<\/strong> and called on 2024 GOP presidential candidates to have the courage to do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSNBC<\/a>: \u201cKasich: ‘When it comes to Trump and his rhetoric there’s no bounds’\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Former House GOP member Barbara Comstock was the co-chair of the 2012 RNC convention and now says Trump is a \u201chorrible misogynist.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

National Press Foundation<\/a>: \u201cBarbara Comstock Calls Trump \u2018Horrible Misogynist\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

U.S. Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman spoke at the <\/strong>2008<\/strong><\/a> RNC convention and has since blasted Trump as a \u201cdishonest demagogue.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cUsing remarkably blunt language, [Whitman] argued that the election of Mr. Trump, whom she called \u2018a dishonest demagogue,\u2019 could lead the country \u2018on a very dangerous journey.\u2019 <\/strong>She noted that democracies had seldom lasted longer than a few hundred years and warned that those who say that \u2018it can\u2019t happen here\u2019 are being na\u00efve.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
