In response to a Trump-Vance campaign surrogate <\/em>threatening<\/em><\/a> a \u201ccivil war\u201d if they lose in November, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cInstead of talking about unity, MAGA Republicans can\u2019t stop threatening political violence and undermining our democratic system. It\u2019s horrifying and shameful, but it\u2019s what we expect from the campaign of a ticket that has repeatedly defended dictators, promoted dangerous election-denying conspiracy theories, and tried to whitewash the violent January 6 insurrection.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At JD Vance\u2019s first solo rally as Donald Trump\u2019s VP nominee, a campaign surrogate threatened \u201ca civil war to save the country\u201d if the Trump-Vance ticket loses this November.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump-Vance surrogate Ohio State Senator George Lang<\/a>: \u201cI believe wholeheartedly Donald Trump and Butler County’s JD Vance are the last chance to save our country. Politically, I’m afraid if we lose this one, it’s going to take a civil war to save the country \u2013 and it will be saved.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump continues to praise and promise pardons for violent January 6 rioters \u2013 who he calls \u201chostages\u201d and \u201cpatriots.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

TIME<\/a>: \u201cTrump has sought to recast the insurrectionist riot as an act of patriotism. \u2018I call them the J-6 patriots,\u2019 Trump tells TIME. When asked whether he would consider pardoning every one of them, he says: \u2018Yes, absolutely.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
