As Team USA helps to kick off the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, we\u2019re remembering that Trump has rooted<\/a> against American athletes time and again<\/a>. Americans across the country know the honor it is to represent your country on the highest athletic stage; As many of our finest athletes go for the gold, we\u2019d like to give somebody else an award \u2013 Donald Trump wins a last-place medal for his contempt for working families, for communities of color, for women\u2019s freedoms, and for American democracy. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump is <\/strong>by many measures a standout in his field for being a fraud, a felon, and a failure.<\/strong> <\/strong>His pick for vice president, JD Vance, also deserves an honorable mention for his work to attack women\u2019s rights and undermine working families\u2019 interests in favor of billionaires\u2019.

Finally, congratulations to the US Women\u2019s Soccer Team, who Trump encouraged a crowd to <\/strong>boo<\/strong><\/a> in 2021<\/strong>, and who won their first match of the Olympics last night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s Trump\u2019s Olympic-sized record that has hurt working American families across the states:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last Place:<\/strong> Trump was the worst jobs president<\/a> in modern American history. If reelected, experts say his plans would raise costs for consumers, increase the inflation rate, and even increase the risk of a recession. His policies would increase Americans\u2019 costs by $500 billion a year, about $1,700 for a typical family<\/a>, and potentially hurt<\/a> the U.S. economy by killing jobs and depressing growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most Egregious: <\/strong>Under <\/strong>Donald Trump, Black unemployment and uninsured rates skyrocketed. He tried to repeal President Obama\u2019s signature achievement \u2013 now, he is doubling down, working to \u201cterminate<\/a>\u201d the ACA. His botched COVID-19 response disproportionately left Black Americans worse-off and Black-owned businesses shuttered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ban-ner Performance:<\/strong> In his first term, Trump backed a national abortion ban and he handpicked the Supreme Court justices who cast the deciding votes to overturn Roe v. Wade<\/em> \u2014 and he\u2019s campaigning on that now in his sad bid for a second term. Thanks to Trump, over 1 in 3 women in America are living under an abortion ban. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Historic Lows: <\/strong>Donald Trump\u2019s failed tax scam gave the richest Americans and greedy corporations a massive tax break while leaving middle-class Americans behind \u2014 all while Trump\u2019s reckless fiscal policy exploded the deficit to historic highs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
