Now, JD Vance is standing firmly behind Trump\u2019s dangerous agenda as he desperately tries to whitewash January 6 and rails against landmark legislation that funded law enforcement. JD Vance stands by Donald Trump, who wants to defund law enforcement \u2014 just like he tried to do every year in office, even as murder rates skyrocketed on his watch.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance has railed against the American Rescue Plan, which included hundreds of billions of dollars for state and local governments that could be used to boost local law enforcement and combat violence.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

White House<\/a>: \u201cThe American Rescue Plan (ARP) has provided over $15 billion to prevent crime and promote public safety, including community violence intervention programs and crisis responders.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance continues to whitewash January 6 as Trump doubles down on his promises to pardon the violent insurrectionists who attacked law enforcement.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Politico<\/a>: \u201c[Vance] downplayed the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol, when Pence was forced to evacuate the building as rioters called for his hanging.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Business Insider<\/a>: \u201cThen-President Donald Trump didn\u2019t want to specifically call for the Justice Department to prosecute January 6 rioters<\/strong> or forcefully condemn those who stormed the Capitol as unrepresentative of the MAGA movement, according to draft remarks obtained by the House committee investigating the attack. In a video posted Monday, the committee showed an excerpt of prepared remarks for Trump\u2019s January 7, 2021, pre-recorded address to the nation. \u2026 The president did not give a more specific and forceful call for the Justice Department to prosecute those involved.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buck Sexton<\/a>: \u201cWill there be a lot of pardons and commutations of people you think were treated unfairly, J6 defendants, January 6 defendants under an administration, your administration?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump: \u201cYes, absolutely. They were treated horribly \u2026 We had people put in jail for five, six, seven years who didn’t do anything wrong. And yes, that will happen very quickly.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
