Today, as Donald Trump prepares for a rally in Potterville, Michigan, he will undoubtedly double down on his failed, anti-union economic policies that let down Michigan\u2019s working families in his first term with his even more extreme Project 2025 agenda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reminder: Trump\u2019s Project 2025 agenda would raise taxes on Michigan families by thousands of dollars a year and supercharge inflation \u2013 all while giving his ultra-wealthy friends additional handouts. Trump has repeatedly put working and middle-class Michiganders last, and he\u2019ll only prioritize himself and his own interests if he reaches the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump has never prioritized the needs of everyday Michiganders, and his catastrophic Project 2025 economic agenda proves that he\u2019ll only get worse in a second term. Not only does he want to double down on his tax scam that padded the pockets of his ultra-wealthy friends and big corporations,  but he\u2019ll go even further to increase working families\u2019 taxes by thousands of dollars a year,\u201d said DNC Spokesperson Stephanie Justice<\/strong>. \u201cMichiganders have had enough of Trump\u2019s self-serving agenda that left them behind and left their state with fewer jobs than when he took office, and they know that Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz are the only candidates in this race fighting to strengthen the middle class, lower costs, and bolster Michigan\u2019s renowned manufacturing economy. Voters across Michigan will reject Trump in November because they deserve real leaders in the White House who will fight for their families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A new study shows that if Trump forces his Project 2025 agenda on the country, typical Michigan families could see tax increases of nearly $4,000 a year.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

USA Today<\/a>: “We are going to have 10% to 20% tariffs on foreign countries that have been ripping us off for years, we are gonna charge them 10% to 20% to come in and take advantage of our country because that is what they have been doing,” he said in the rally.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Center for American Progress<\/a>: \u201cA typical family would, therefore, pay between $2,500 to $3,900 from Trump\u2019s import taxes<\/strong>, depending on the precise tax rate between 10 percent and 20 percent that various countries\u2019 goods could be taxed at.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s tax scam \u2013 which he wants to <\/strong>extend<\/strong><\/a> if given a second term \u2013 gave the richest 1 percent of Michiganders massive tax giveaways while leaving crumbs for working families. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
