As Donald Trump drops into Wisconsin tonight for a town hall, <\/em>DNC Spokesperson Addy Toevs released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump already abandoned Wisconsin working families once before \u2013 wasting hundreds of millions of Wisconsinites’ tax dollars with his failed Foxconn scam. Now, he\u2019s back with another scam-filled agenda that would cost Wisconsin families thousands of dollars a year while giving millions in tax breaks to his wealthy friends. Wisconsin voters know all too well that they will be left footing the bill for Trump\u2019s disastrous economic plans. That\u2019s why they\u2019ll show up this November to reject Trump\u2019s Project 2025 agenda and elect Vice President Harris and Governor Walz \u2013 the only candidates in this race fighting to lower costs and create real opportunities for Wisconsin\u2019s working families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s Project 2025 agenda would raise taxes by up to $3,900 a year for typical middle-class families.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Center for American Progress<\/a>: \u201cCAP Action estimates that a 20 percent across-the-board import tax combined with the 60 percent tax on Chinese goods would amount to about a $3,900 tax increase for a middle-income family.* This includes a $200 tax increase on food; a $240 tax increase on oil and petroleum products; and a $210 tax increase on medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA typical family would, therefore, pay between $2,500 to $3,900 from Trump\u2019s import taxes, depending on the precise tax rate between 10 percent and 20 percent that various countries\u2019 goods could be taxed at.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump promised up to <\/strong>13,000<\/strong><\/a> new jobs in Wisconsin from the Foxconn deal. With a golden shovel in hand, he called it the \u201c<\/strong>eighth wonder of the world<\/strong><\/a>\u201d and lauded it as a \u201cwonderful trade deal.\u201d As Wisconsinites know, the <\/strong>jobs never materialized<\/strong><\/a>. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cTrump promised this Wisconsin town a manufacturing boom. It never arrived.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg<\/a>: \u201cIt was going to be one of the biggest deals of Donald Trump\u2019s presidency. But it was a mirage\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThat heavily subsidized deal with the Taiwanese manufacturing giant that Trump helped broker has turned out to be, at best, a fraction of what was touted: a much smaller factory footprint with just over 1,000 jobs rather than the 13,000 jobs promised. The site is still largely a sprawling field.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strong Towns<\/a>: \u201cWisconsin Foxconn Deal Cost Taxpayers Millions\u2014And It Will Continue To Cost More Millions\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has vowed to double down on his <\/strong>extreme tax scam<\/strong><\/a>, extending and even expanding his disastrous policies, which would give handouts to the wealthiest .01 percent of Americans and big corporations while leaving working Wisconsin families behind. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
