Congress has only been back in session one week and MAGA Republicans on Capitol Hill are once again threatening Americans\u2019 jobs and paychecks by following Donald Trump and JD Vance\u2019s orders to force the country to the brink of a shutdown to advance their Project 2025 policies: forcing cuts to veterans\u2019 health care<\/a>, harming small businesses<\/a> hit by natural disasters, and giving billionaire tax cheats<\/a> a get-out-of-jail-free card.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With less than two months until Election Day, Republicans in Congress have only brought chaos at the expense of working families while blocking commonsense, bipartisan deals to secure the border, codify Roe<\/em>, protect IVF and contraception, and lower taxes for middle class Americans \u2013 all at Trump\u2019s behest. Republicans\u2019 control of the House has turned this Congress into \u201cthe most unproductive in decades<\/a>,\u201d showing once again that MAGA Republicans would rather play political games than make government work for the American people.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Donald Trump and now JD Vance are urging MAGA Republicans to shut down the government to advance their dangerous Project 2025 agenda. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201c\u2018I would shut down the government in a heartbeat <\/strong>if they don\u2019t get it,\u2019 Trump said on the \u2018Monica Crowley Show\u2019 last week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018It should be in the bill. And if it\u2019s not in the bill, you want to close it up,\u2019<\/strong> he said. \u2018So I\u2019m not there but, you know, I have influence.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNBC<\/a>: \u201cTrump tells Republicans to shut down government <\/strong>if hard-line voter ID bill gets cut from spending bill\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFormer President Donald Trump on Tuesday said congressional Republicans should pursue a government shutdown<\/strong> if they cannot attach a hard-line voting bill to the temporary funding resolution that would keep the government open.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201c\u2026And so yeah, man, why shouldn’t we be trying to force this government shutdown fight <\/strong>to get something out of if that’s good for the American people? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Republicans in Congress are threatening a shutdown in order to push Donald Trump and JD Vance\u2019s extreme Project 2025 agenda at the expense of our veterans, small businesses, and hard working Americans. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Project 2025 and Congressional Republicans are pushing a proposal that would harm veterans and their families\u2019 hard-earned health care.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
