When Trump was pushed to say whether or not he would repeal the Affordable Care Act during his disastrous debate performance Tuesday night, he stammered and stumbled \u2014 claiming to have \u201cconcepts of a plan\u201d in the latest of  Trump\u2019s cop-outs, lies, and deflections in an attempt to distract the American people from the dark reality of his second term agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, <\/em>DNC National Press Secretary Emilia Rowland released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump responded to a question about his record of vowing to tear away health care from millions of Americans with the level of seriousness you\u2019d expect if he\u2019d been asked about his holiday weekend plans because he knows that his failing campaign can\u2019t afford for any more Americans to hear the truth: VP Harris has a plan to help YOU, but the only \u2018concept of a plan\u2019 Trump has is his Project 2025 agenda, which would give him unprecedented power to control our lives, from monitoring pregnancies, to gutting health care protections for millions, to gifting tax cuts to his billionaire buddies while raising taxes on middle-class Americans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s only \u201cconcept of a plan\u201d on health care is his Project 2025 agenda, which includes<\/strong> <\/em><\/strong>rolling back cost-saving measures on health care and prescription drugs from millions of Americans. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question<\/a>: \u201cYou have long vowed to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare\u2026 Do you have a plan and can you tell us what it is?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s Real Project 2025 Plan:<\/strong> Trump\u2019s Project 2025 agenda would accelerate efforts to privatize<\/a> Medicare and raise prescription drug prices including by getting rid of the $35\/month insulin price cap for seniors established thanks to President Biden and Vice President Harris\u2019 historic Inflation Reduction Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s only \u201cconcepts of a plan\u201d on reproductive health care are his Project 2025 plans to ban abortion nationwide, threaten access to IVF and contraception, and even monitor women\u2019s pregnancies.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question<\/a>: \u201cWould you veto a national abortion ban?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s Real Project 2025 Plan:<\/strong> \u201cRepublicans will, unequivocally seek to ban all abortion and make abortion inaccessible nationwide; in addition to attempting to misuse the antiquated Comstock Act to ban medication abortion, a second Trump administration could attempt to misuse the dormant statute to criminalize materials used to provide basic abortion care.\u201d (Office of U.S. Senator Murray<\/a>, Project 2025, Mandate for Leadership, p. 458, 459, 562)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nation<\/a>: \u201cAnd by declaring that life begins at conception, his [Project 2025] manifesto appears to commit HHS to finding ways to outlaw IVF, which relies on generating multiple embryos, most of which are not implanted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reproductive Freedom for All<\/a>: \u201cThe extensive mandate calls to gut reproductive freedom, including effectively banning medication abortion, ending access to emergency abortion care, attacking contraception, deploying fetal personhood, and undermining IVF in federal policy\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProject 2025 includes personhood language and policies that propagate the belief that life begins at conception\u2014which could have devastating impacts should it be put into law. This so-called \u201cpersonhood\u201d language could ban not only abortion but also some forms of birth control and assisted fertility treatments like IVF.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project 2025 would also give Trump unprecedented power<\/a> to monitor pregnancies<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s only \u201cconcepts of plan\u201d on the economy is his Project 2025 agenda to line the pockets of his billionaire buddies with tax giveaways at the expense of  middle class families.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump, in response to his plans for the economy<\/a>: \u201cEverybody knows what I’m going to do. Cut taxes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s Real Project 2025 Plan: <\/strong>Trump\u2019s Project 2025 tax plan would increase<\/a> taxes<\/a> on the middle class while giving handouts to greedy corporations and America\u2019s wealthiest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And on border security, Trump can\u2019t defend his actions to tank bipartisan border security legislation for his own political gain.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Question<\/a>: \u201cLet me just ask, though, why did you try to kill that bill and successfully so? That would have put thousands of additional agents and officers on the border.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
