Ahead of JD Vance\u2019s event with the Georgia Faith and Freedom Coalition today, here\u2019s a reminder of his close ties and unpopular promises to this anti-choice group: <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last time JD Vance attended a Faith and Freedom Coalition event, he said anti-choice activists will \u201calways have a seat\u201d at the Trump-Vance ticket\u2019s table.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance<\/a>: \u201cThere has been a lot of rumbling in the past few weeks that the Republican Party of now, the Republican Party of the future is not going to be a place that\u2019s welcoming to social conservatives. And really from the bottom of my heart I would say that is not true. Social conservatives have a seat at this table and they always will so long as I have any influence in this party, and President Trump I know agrees.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Faith and Freedom Coalition is made up of anti-choice MAGA loyalists, including president and founder Ralph Reed, and has ties to anti-choice groups and conspiracy theorists like <\/strong>Alveda King<\/strong><\/a> and <\/strong>John Hagee<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faith and Freedom Coalition<\/a>: \u201cRalph Reed is the founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, <\/strong>which he formed in 2009 to serve as a bridge between evangelical voters and the growing Tea Party movement.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cAnti-abortion groups to Trump: Don\u2019t water down GOP platform by removing support for federal ban\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe sentiment was echoed last week by Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition and a close ally of the former president. Speaking during a virtual event hosted by the Washington Post, Reed publicly urged the Trump campaign \u2018to proceed with great caution in sending any message of vacillation or retreat when it comes to the defense of the innocent unborn.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ralph Reed<\/a>: \u201cNow, just to be clear, our organization supports any pro-life law that will save any unborn child at any level of government\u2014local, state, or federal. <\/strong>We would not only support the 20-week pain-capable bill, we would support a 15-week pain-capable bill. We would support a 12-week after the first trimester or a heartbeat bill or even a total ban. I mean, we\u2019re a pro-life organization.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alveda King<\/a>: \u201c\u2018A great victory for life was won last month as Roe v Wade was overturned, BUT President Biden and liberals in Congress are focused on expanding the death-care known as abortion. We must pray and we must act to save our unborn!\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alveda King<\/a>: \u201cNo numbers games, reverse abortion! Babies aren\u2019t political footballs We\u2019re dealing with human lives one blood\/one race, human dignity Remember Trump\u2019s appointments of judges and justices helped bring down Roe v Wade Nothing\u2019s changed. Pres. Trump is still for life. \ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffd4myfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US News & World Report<\/a>: \u201cHagee endorsed Sen. John McCain in the 2008 presidential election, but McCain publicly renounced the endorsement after a previous sermon of Hagee\u2019s came to light in which Hagee appeared to assert that Adolf Hitler was half-Jewish and was sent by God to drive Jews to Israel. Hagee suggested that it was Jews\u2019 \u2018disobedience\u2019 of God that \u2018gave rise\u2019 to their persecution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Matters<\/a>: \u201cEarlier in the [the September 18, 2006 edition of National Public Radio’s Fresh Air host Terry] Gross had asked [Christians United For Israel Founder and National Chairman] Hagee if he believed that \u2018all Muslims have a mandate to kill Christians and Jews.\u2019 Hagee replied: \u2018Well, the Quran teaches that. Yes, it teaches that very clearly.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Media Matters<\/a>: \u201cIn What Every Man Wants in a Woman, Hagee wrote: \u2018\u2026[Same-sex marriage] will open the door to incest, to polygamy, and every conceivable marriage arrangement demented minds can possibly conceive. If God does not then punish America, He will have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.\u2019 He also wrote: \u2018It is impossible to call yourself a Christian and defend homosexuality. There is no justification or acceptance of homosexuality,\u2019 and \u2018Homosexuality means the death of society because homosexuals can recruit, but they cannot reproduce\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MSNBC<\/a>: \u201cIt wasn\u2019t long before McCain was asked whether he agreed with Hagee\u2019s record of radicalism, including the pastor\u2019s claims that the Holocaust was a divine plan from God, Hurricane Katrina was God\u2019s punishment for Pride parades in New Orleans, and women are \u2018only meant to be mothers and bear children.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vance\u2019s anti-choice record includes wanting abortion to be \u201cillegal nationally,\u201d criticizing exceptions for rape and incest, comparing abortion to slavery, and more.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance said in 2022 he \u2018would like abortion to be illegal nationally\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring a podcast interview in January 2022, then-candidate JD Vance said he \u2018certainly would like abortion to be illegal nationally\u2019 and was \u2018sympathetic\u2019 to the view that a national ban was necessary to stop women from traveling across states to obtain an abortion.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newsweek<\/a>: \u201cJ.D. Vance Backs \u2018National Standard\u2019 for Abortions\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daily Beast<\/a>: \u201cJ.D. Vance suggested he would support prohibiting abortion even in cases of rape and incest\u2014and dismissed those catalysts as \u2018inconvenient.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vice<\/a>: \u201cJD Vance Compared Abortion to Slavery\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cDuring his campaign for Senate, Vance applauded the overturning of Roe v. Wade and supported Texas\u2019s ban on abortion, which does not allow exceptions other than cases where the mother\u2019s life is at risk.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018Two wrongs don\u2019t make a right,\u2019 he said in 2021 when asked whether abortion laws should allow for exceptions for rape and incest.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Vance<\/a>: \u201cI think that what I really think on \u2013 so first of all, the <\/strong>Dobbs<\/em><\/strong> decision, everybody knows, overruled <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 I think that was the right decision.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSenate Republicans on Wednesday blocked legislation led by Democrats to revive the protections of Roe v. Wade in the wake of the Supreme Court eliminating the nationwide right to abortion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just yesterday, Vance admitted Donald Trump STILL has not told him if he would veto a national abortion ban, after Trump refused to answer the same question on the debate stage.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
