Wade<\/em> as a \u201cvictory\u201d after new reporting showed that Donald Trump\u2019s abortion bans lead to preventable deaths; Vance correctly said Trump has been consistent about his extreme, anti-choice agenda; Trump\u2019s MAGA minions in the Senate once again blocked legislation to protect IVF access nationwide \u2013 and Vance couldn\u2019t even be bothered to show up for the vote; Trump continued to pressure Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson to shut down the government; Vance failed to disavow Mark Robinson after yesterday\u2019s horrific reporting; Vance made clear that the Trump-Vance health care plan is to rip away protections from people with preexisting conditions; and Trump once again lied about his loss in the 2020 election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hours after new reporting showed that Donald Trump\u2019s abortion bans across the country are leading to preventable deaths, JD Vance celebrated Trump\u2019s overturning of <\/strong><strong><em>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong><strong> as a \u201cvictory.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Acyn\/status\/1835816796294975627\">Vance<\/a>: \u201cThe Supreme Court\u2019s decision [to overturn <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>] was a victory\u2026 We\u2019re united in our gratitude and our admiration for these devoted defenders of the unborn and for the judges, justices, and especially President Trump, whose commitment to defending the law and the constitution allowed this breakthrough after over 50 years.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/georgia-abortion-ban-amber-thurman-death?utm_campaign=propublica-sprout&amp;utm_content=1726570808&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter\">ProPublica<\/a>: \u201cAbortion Bans Have Delayed Emergency Medical Care. In Georgia, Experts Say This Mother\u2019s Death Was Preventable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn her final hours, Amber Nicole Thurman suffered from a grave infection that her suburban Atlanta hospital was well-equipped to treat. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut when the mother of three realized she had unintentionally gotten pregnant in the fall of 2022, Georgia\u2019s new abortion ban gave her no choice. Although it made exceptions for acute, life-threatening emergencies, it didn\u2019t account for chronic conditions, even those known to present lethal risks later in pregnancy. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHer case adds to mounting evidence that exceptions to abortion bans do not, as billed, protect the \u201clife of the mother.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vance correctly said that Trump has been consistent on his extreme, anti-choice agenda to ban abortion nationwide.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=f4eiCCIb1LQ\">Vance<\/a>: \u201cYou take [Trump] for his word or you don\u2019t. \u2026 He\u2019s been as consistent as he could about [abortion].\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/trump-says-he-will-support-national-ban-on-abortions-around-15-weeks-of-pregnancy#:~:text=weeks%2Dof%2Dpregnancy-,Trump%20says%20he%20will%20support%20national%20ban,around%2015%20weeks%20of%20pregnancy&amp;text=NEW%20YORK%20(AP)%20%E2%80%94%20Donald,specific%20limit%20on%20the%20procedure.\">Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cTrump says he will support national ban on abortions around 15 weeks of pregnancy\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1777313236288712970\">Trump<\/a>: \u201cI was proudly the person responsible for the ending of \u2026 <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1745277154236260693\">Trump<\/a>: \u201cFor 54 years they were trying to get <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> terminated, and I did it, and I\u2019m proud to have done it. \u2026 Nobody else was going to get that done but me, and we did it, and we did something that was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump\u2019s MAGA minions in the Senate blocked legislation to protect IVF access nationwide (again), and his running mate Vance couldn\u2019t even be bothered to show up for the vote.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/news\/world\/americas\/us-politics\/jd-vance-ivf-vote-trump-tips-b2614460.html\">The Independent<\/a>: \u201cIVF is supposedly key to Trump\u2019s campaign. JD Vance didn\u2019t even show up to vote on it\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c&#8230;it was Trump who put IVF in jeopardy. His confirmation of ultra-conservative judges to the Supreme Court led to the overturn of <em>Roe v Wade<\/em> with the Dobbs decision, which then in turn led a court in Alabama to declare embryos humans. If embryos are humans, of course, then IVF is untenable. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnsurprisingly, most Republicans opposed the motion. But what is more surprising is who did not vote at all: Trump\u2019s running mate and man on the Hill, Senator JD Vance of Ohio. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is not the first time that Vance has skipped a vote on legislation that ostensibly matters to him. He\u2019s previously said he supports an expanded child tax credit \u2014 but then when given a chance to vote on a bipartisan proposal that passed the House and would have included a child tax credit, he skipped the vote.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2024\/09\/17\/g-s1-23414\/senate-republicans-block-ivf-legislation\">NPR<\/a>: \u201cSenate Republicans block IVF bill, as Democrats elevate issue ahead of November election\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trump continues to pressure Speaker MAGA Mike Johnson to shut down the government, something even Mitch McConnell knows is \u201cbeyond politically stupid.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/house\/4887533-mike-johnson-funding-bill-fails-house\/\">The Hill<\/a>: \u201cHouse GOP torpedoes Speaker Johnson\u2019s funding bill\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cA diverse group of House Republicans torpedoed Speaker Mike Johnson\u2019s (R-La.) proposal to fund the government on Wednesday, dealing an embarrassing blow to the GOP leader and derailing his strategy to avoid a shutdown at the end of the month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe vote outcome, nonetheless, is putting the Speaker in a bind. JD Vance (R-Ohio) this week said the Trump campaign wants to roll back the Affordable Care Act\u2019s approach to how chronically ill Americans shop for health insurance, with the Republican vice-presidential candidate reopening a health-care debate that Democrats are eager to have \u2014 and resurrecting a fight that has repeatedly burned the GOP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSpeaking in North Carolina on Wednesday, Vance floated an idea to group chronically ill patients together in health-insurance pools based on their elevated risks.
