Vance put Donald Trump\u2019s self-serving political interests ahead of our border security, and the American people aren\u2019t falling for his pathetic and desperate spin today.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>JD Vance admitted just two weeks ago that he opposed efforts to <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/briefing-room\/statements-releases\/2024\/02\/29\/fact-sheet-impact-of-bipartisan-border-agreement-funding-on-border-operations\/\"><strong>improve our immigration system, secure our border, and detect fentanyl<\/strong><\/a><strong> coming into our country.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6360754936112\">Vance<\/a>: <strong>\u201cThe border deal was a disaster. <\/strong>I would not have voted for it if Donald Trump told me you have to vote for this thing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vance has made it clear he does not support critical bipartisan efforts to secure our border and combat drug trafficking.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/02\/07\/briefing\/republican-border-bill-ukraine.html\">New York Times<\/a>: <strong>\u201cRepublicans Against Border Enforcement\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2024\/2\/7\/24064001\/border-crisis-immigration-reality-explained-mayorkas-impeachment\">Vox<\/a>: \u201cTrump made this clear when he reportedly urged Republicans in Congress to turn against the bipartisan Senate border security bill scheduled for a vote Wednesday <strong>so that he could keep the issue alive through the presidential election.<\/strong> His supporters have largely fallen in line.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/02\/06\/politics\/republican-opposition-senate-border-bill\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>: <strong>\u201cTrump, who is hoping to make immigration a key plank of his presidential campaign, has suggested on Truth Social that approving additional resources for the border would make Republicans \u2018look bad.\u2019\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/border-patrol-supports-immigration-reform-bill-republicans-1234962111\/\">Rolling Stone<\/a>: <strong>\u201cBorder Patrol Supports \u2018Strong\u2019 Immigration Deal. Republicans Don\u2019t Care\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1754942810103415019?s=20\">Trump<\/a>: <strong>\u201cPlease blame it on me.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BidenHQ\/status\/1754967724344676446?s=20\">Trump<\/a>: <strong>\u201cI think [Republicans] are making a terrible mistake if they vote for the bill.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2024\/02\/06\/politics\/trump-republicans-immigration\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>: <strong>\u201cThe border compromise would represent a dramatic change of immigration law on lines many Republicans have long supported.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Two-thirds of Americans support the bipartisan border security deal that Vance fell in line with Trump to oppose.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/navigatorresearch.org\/two-in-three-americans-support-the-bipartisan-immigration-deal\/\">Navigator Research<\/a>: <strong>\u201cTwo in Three Americans Support the Bipartisan Immigration Deal\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cOn the Republican approach to the recent immigration package, Americans\u2019 greatest concerns are that they are focused on the wrong issues and playing politics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe immigration deal earns support across party lines, including among three in four Republicans (net +58; 74 percent support \u201316 percent oppose), two in three independents (net +48; 64 percent support \u2013 16 percent oppose), and three in five Democrats (net +32; 59 percent support \u2013 27 percent oppose).\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thirdway.org\/polling\/owning-the-immigration-deal?utm_source=Pardot&amp;utm_medium=email\">Third Way<\/a>: <strong>\u201cVoters like the deal, both as a whole and individual components. \u2026 <\/strong>Across the board, both swing and base voters are remarkably aligned in favor of the big security components of the deal\u2026 It\u2019s not just the tough on the border policies that voters like\u2014they also understand that a major piece of restoring order must be providing orderly pathways for people to come to this country in other ways.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Vance has defended Trump\u2019s racist immigration rhetoric and shares Trump\u2019s extreme and cruel Project 2025 immigration agenda that includes ripping away children from their parents, rounding up people into detention camps, and using the military to carry out mass deportations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/07\/15\/us\/politics\/jd-vance-abortion-immigration-issues.html\">New York Times<\/a>:<strong> \u201cMr. Vance\u2019s views on immigration largely echo Mr. Trump.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/homenews\/senate\/4368234-vance-slams-poisoning-our-blood-comparisons-between-trump-comments-nazis\/\">The Hill<\/a>: <strong>\u201c\u2018[Trump] said illegal immigrants were poisoning the blood of this country, which is objectively and obviously true\u2019 &#8230; Vance said.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/11\/11\/us\/politics\/trump-2025-immigration-agenda.html\">New York Times<\/a>: <strong>\u201cSweeping Raids, Giant Camps and Mass Deportations: Inside Trump\u2019s 2025 Immigration Plans\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTo ease the strain on ICE detention facilities, <strong>Mr. Trump wants to build huge camps to detain people<\/strong> while their cases are processed and they await deportation flights. And to get around any refusal by Congress to appropriate the necessary funds, <strong>Mr. Trump would redirect money in the military budget<\/strong>, as he did in his first term to spend more on a border wall than Congress had authorized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSuch camps could also enable the government to speed up the pace and volume of deportations of undocumented people who have lived in the United States for years and so are not subject to fast-track removal.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2023\/11\/11\/biden-campaign-slams-extreme-and-racist-trump-immigration-plans-00126712\">Politico<\/a>: \u201cIf he wins the 2024 election, <strong>Trump intends to reimplement many of his first-term policies, including the so-called Muslim ban and the use of Title 42 to turn away asylum seekers.<\/strong> He also wants to deport migrants by the
