Donald Trump spent his entire campaign lying to the American people in an attempt to distance himself from Project 2025. Now, the mask is off \u2014 Trump is stacking his administration with the Project 2025 architects<\/a>, authors<\/a>, and contributors<\/a> who constructed his dangerous blueprint for a second term and will proudly try to carry out his agenda of revenge and retribution.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a look at the latest coverage on the Project 2025 loyalists Trump is stacking his administration with:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cMr. Trump spent much of the campaign distancing himself from Project 2025<\/strong>, a sprawling initiative spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation that included a \u2018blueprint\u2019 document for a new conservative administration that was authored in part by former Trump staffers. But since winning the election, Mr. Trump has picked at least seven people with ties to the controversial conservative policy initiative to serve in his administration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cProject 2025 also includes a database of Heritage-vetted personnel intended to help a Republican president build rank-and-file staff. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe America First Policy Institute, <\/strong>which like the Heritage Foundation is a pro-Trump think tank, is also heavily represented in his picks so far. At least 11 of the people among his picks have ties to the upstart policy group. Much like Project 2025, the think tank has prepared staffing plans and a policy agenda, and it reportedly has drafted nearly 300 executive orders ready for Mr. Trump\u2019s signature.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cPresident-elect Donald J. Trump has filled his administration with people who have ties to the right-wing manifesto<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring the campaign, President-elect Donald J. Trump swore he had \u2018nothing to do with\u2019 a right-wing policy blueprint<\/strong> known as Project 2025 that would overhaul the federal government, even though many of those involved in developing the plans were his allies. …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow,<\/strong> as he plans his agenda for his return to the White House, Mr. Trump has recruited at least a half dozen architects and supporters of the plan to oversee key issues, including the federal budget, intelligence gathering and his promised plans for mass deportations.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NBC News<\/a>: \u201cTrump\u2019s transition team is turning to Project 2025 to help staff the next administration.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlready, transition officials are taking suggestions for potential hires from the extensive personnel database created by Project 2025, a person familiar with the situation told NBC News. …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere was plenty of overlap between the Trump agenda and Project 2025<\/strong> \u2014 which featured contributions from dozens of officials from Trump\u2019s first administration. For instance, the Project 2025 policy blueprint and Trump\u2019s \u2018Agenda 47\u2019 featured similar ideas on mass deportations and slashing the federal bureaucracy.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cAs the blueprint for a hard-right turn in America became a liability during the 2024 campaign, Trump pulled an about-face. He denied knowing anything about the \u2018ridiculous and abysmal\u2019 plans written in part by his first-term aides and allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow, after being elected the 47th president on Nov. 5, Trump is stocking his second administration with key players in the detailed effort he temporarily shunned.<\/strong> Most notably, Trump has tapped Russell Vought for an encore as director of the Office of Management and Budget; Tom Homan, his former immigration chief, as \u2018border czar;\u2019 and immigration hardliner Stephen Miller as deputy chief of policy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cBut just over two months later, Trump has won the presidency and is assembling an administration that includes some picks for key positions that stand in stark contrast to his repeated efforts to distance himself from Project 2025<\/strong>. …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump has named at least four other nominees who are credited by name in Project 2025<\/strong>, a product of the conservative Heritage Foundation: Tom Homan, Trump\u2019s pick for \u201cborder czar\u201d; John Ratcliffe, Trump\u2019s planned nominee for CIA director; Brendan Carr, his selection to head the Federal Communications Commission; and Pete Hoekstra, Trump\u2019s selection for ambassador to Canada. Homan, Hoekstra and Ratcliffe were listed as contributors to Project 2025\u2019s 900-plus-page manifesto. Carr wrote an entire chapter on the agency that Trump now wants him to run.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Magazine<\/a>: \u201cDuring his 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump and aides repeatedly dismissed the idea of any association between them and Project 2025, the Heritage Foundation effort to draft a transition plan and detailed policy blueprint for Trump to use should he win the election. …<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow that Trump and Team MAGA are headed back to the White House, they clearly aren\u2019t keeping their distance anymore. Trump has named several Project 2025 authors and contributors to his White House Cabinet<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
