\u201cAs President Joe Biden prepares to leave office and give his farewell speech tonight from the Oval Office, Michiganders are reaping the benefits of policies and investments made under his administration. Michigan\u2019s economic and social landscape has significantly transformed over the past four years, from job creation to clean energy investments and health care reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDNC Chair Jaime Harrison credited the Biden-Harris administration for its substantial contributions to Michigan\u2019s progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018From bringing private companies to the table to invest over $32 billion in Michigan in clean energy and manufacturing to creating over 400,000 Michigan jobs, President Biden and Vice President Harris have delivered for Michiganders time and time again,\u2019 Harrison said. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn 2021, Michigan saw a significant drop in unemployment and strong job growth. The unemployment rate in the state fell from 6.5% in January 2021 to 4.8% in November 2024. During this time, Michigan added 421,900 new jobs, recovering nicely from the loss of 283,000 jobs that occurred when President Trump was in office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince President Biden took office, private company investment has significantly increased, with more than $32 billion dedicated to clean energy and manufacturing projects in Michigan. One notable example is a $325 million investment from the CHIPS Act, which is helping Hemlock Semiconductor build a new factory in Saginaw County. This project is expected to create over 1,000 new jobs in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Biden administration invested $15.5 billion in public infrastructure projects in Michigan. This included over $200 million specifically for replacing old lead pipes, which will help provide safe drinking water to communities. By focusing on clean energy and environmentally friendly development, Michigan is becoming a leader in the shift toward renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe healthcare changes introduced by the Biden administration have significantly benefited people in Michigan. The number of residents signing up for health insurance through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has almost doubled, increasing from 263,000 in 2020 to 516,000 in 2024. This means more people in Michigan are gaining access to necessary health coverage. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEducation policy under the Biden-Harris administration has eased the financial burden on Michiganders. Over 160,000 residents have had more than $5.6 billion in student loan debt canceled. These investments have created or lait the groundwork for more than 18,700 jobs across 30 new projects, making Arizona ninth in the nation for clean energy job creation. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBeyond clean energy, Arizona\u2019s broader economic indicators show significant improvement under Biden\u2019s tenure. The state\u2019s unemployment rate has dropped from 6.4% when he took office to 3.7% as of November, with 383,000 jobs added during his administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHealth care access has also expanded dramatically. Enrollment in Arizona\u2019s Affordable Care Act Marketplace has nearly tripled to 410,000, up from 153,000 in 2020. More than 1.1 million Arizona seniors are benefiting from new caps on insulin costs and other prescription drug pricing reforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA look at some crucial numbers involving employment, health care, education, energy, and manufacturing, left little doubt that the Biden-Harris Administration left the state of Georgia better than they found it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGeorgia\u2019s unemployment rate fell to just under 4% in November 2024 compared to being near 5% four years ago, according to data provided by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring Biden\u2019s four years as President, Georgia has seen 491,200 jobs added, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor a state that ranks last in the country on maternal mortality rates of Black women, according to the Center for Reproductive Rights, that Medicaid extension could have possibly saved lives. Black women in Georgia remain three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women, so making things easier after getting through pregnancy in the state of Georgia was substantial. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe student debt relief during the Biden-Harris Administration was often mentioned during speeches and campaign rallies. More than 200,000 Georgians, many of whom are students and graduates of the state\u2019s many Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), such as Albany State University, Clark Atlanta University, Morris Brown College, Morehouse College, Savannah State University, and Spelman College, had $8.5 billion in student debt cancelled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe investment in private companies working in the clean energy and manufacturing industries reached $42 billion during the past four years. That includes $600 million in the semiconductors and electronics industries and $25 billion in EV and batteries businesses.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wisconsin Examiner<\/strong><\/a>: Awaiting Biden\u2019s farewell address, Democrats tout administration\u2019s record<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2018With an unemployment rate under 3% and infrastructure investments of over $20 billion into Wisconsin, including fixing the Blatnik Bridge, President Biden and Vice President [Kamala] Harris have delivered for Wisconsinites,\u2019 outgoing Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison said Tuesday. \u2018The investment and commitment the Biden Administration made into Wisconsin will benefit the state for decades to come.\u2019 \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnemployment in the state was 4.7% in January, 2021, when Biden took the oath of office and has since fallen to 2.9% in November, the St. Louis Federal Reserve reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics counts 186,800 jobs added in the last four years. The state lost 83,500 jobs in Donald Trump\u2019s first term as president, reflecting the job crash that came starting in early 2020 with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe White House takes credit for an estimated $8 billion investment that private companies have announced for clean energy and manufacturing in Wisconsin.  The U.S. Department of Energy is projecting that the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act is responsible for $4 billion in new, large-scale clean power projects in the state by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe administration has pegged the value of federal infrastructure investments in Wisconsin at $9.2 billion, with $1 billion of that going to upgrade and repair the Blatnik Bridge connecting Superior, Wisconsin, with its twin city of Duluth, Minnesota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFederal investment in health care navigator services and the Inflation Reduction Act\u2019s extension of enhanced subsidies for health insurance premiums purchased through the health care marketplace Healthcare.gov under the Affordable Care Act have contributed to a record enrollment of 306,000 people to date \u2014 an increase of more than one-third from the 2020 enrollment of 195,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAccording to the Department of Health and Human Services, capping insulin prices at $35 a month for Medicare recipients, a new $2,000 cap on yearly out-of-pocket Medicare prescription costs and Medicare\u2019s new ability to negotiate the prices for certain high-priced prescription drugs will benefit more than 1 million Wisconsin seniors. For some 300,000 Wisconsin Medicare recipients, prescription drug cost savings will average $475 a year, HHS projects. All of those provisions were included in the Inflation Reduction Act.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe American Rescue Plan, enacted in the first three months of Biden\u2019s term has most recently enabled Wisconsin to extend Medicaid postpartum coverage to 12 months from two months previously, according to KFF, a nonpartisan health policy news and analysis organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
