Bondi has proven she will focus on exacting Trump\u2019s agenda of revenge and retribution \u2013 not protecting Americans\u2019 rights or safety.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Before being tapped for Attorney General, Pam Bondi helped lead an organization working \u201cto implement Project 2025.\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/americafirstpolicy.com\/team\/pambondi\">America First Policy Institute<\/a>: \u201cPam Bondi is from Tampa, Florida, and serves as the <strong>Chair for the Center for Litigation, and Co-Chair of the Center for Law and Justice at AFPI<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/magazine\/2023\/09\/19\/project-2025-trump-reagan-00115811\">Politico<\/a>: \u201cFor the <strong>America First Policy Institute, which is helping to implement Project 2025<\/strong>, its grandest ambitions lie in soliciting governors and state attorneys general to the cause, among others.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/10\/24\/us\/politics\/donald-trump-campaign-america-first-policy-institute.html\">New York Times<\/a>: \u201cFounded by three wealthy Texans in late 2020, the group, known as <strong>A.F.P.I., has quickly inserted itself into nearly every corner of Mr. Trump\u2019s political machine<\/strong>, and is closer than any other outside player in his planning for a second term.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During her hearing, Bondi refused to say Trump lost the 2020 election and proved she will provide Trump with any cover he needs after he pardoned violent rioters who attacked the Capitol on January 6.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/world\/us\/trumps-attorney-general-pick-bondi-questioned-his-2020-election-defeat-2024-11-22\/\">Reuters<\/a>: \u201c<strong>Pam Bondi<\/strong>, Trump&#8217;s pick for attorney general, <strong>said Trump had won the battleground state of Pennsylvania as votes were still being counted<\/strong>, and implied fraud was taking place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>\u2018We do have evidence of cheating,\u2019 Bondi said on Fox News<\/strong>, on Nov. 5, 2020, two days after the election, citing ballots allegedly being \u2018dumped\u2019 and mailed to dead people. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTrump would go on to lose the state, and the election. No evidence has emerged to support his claims of widespread fraud.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/12\/16\/pam-bond-attorney-general-2020-pennsylvania\/\">Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cIn public appearances in the week after the election, <strong>Bondi also made unfounded allegations about \u2018evidence of cheating\u2019 and \u2018fake ballots,\u2019<\/strong> and in private huddles with other campaign advisers she discussed legal strategies to challenge the results in a state Joe Biden ultimately won by 80,000 votes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/factpostnews\/status\/1879601743736045982\">Senator Adam Schiff<\/a>: \u201cIt will also be important for you to be able to preserve the records, the evidence of the department. <strong>Are you ready to commit that none of the evidence in the January 6th investigation will be destroyed under your watch?\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bondi: *Doesn\u2019t answer*&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Schiff: \u201cDo you see any ethical basis to destroy evidence in the January 6th investigation? Then <strong>why can\u2019t you answer the question?<\/strong> Why can&#8217;t you say I commit to this committee, we will never destroy the evidence in the January 6th investigation. <strong>Why can&#8217;t you give this committee and the American people that assurance?\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bondi: *Tries to change the topic*&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Schiff: \u201cWhy do- why do you have difficulty answering that question?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bondi: <strong>\u201cI can\u2019t believe you are asking that question.\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Schiff: <strong>\u201cWhy do you have difficulty promising to preserve evidence at the Department of Justice?<\/strong> Why is that a difficult question?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bondi: *Doesn\u2019t answer, again.*&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sen. Schiff: <strong>\u201cIt shouldn\u2019t be a difficult question.\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bondi is a Trump loyalist who has proven she has no issue putting Trump above the law, previously dropping an investigation into Trump University after asking for and receiving a $25,000 illegal contribution.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.citizensforethics.org\/reports-investigations\/crew-investigations\/the-trump-foundation-pam-bondi-scandal\/\">CREW<\/a>: \u201cIn March 2016, CREW discovered that the <strong>Trump Foundation had broken the law by giving an illegal $25,000 contribution to a political group supporting Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.<\/strong> Charitable foundations like the Trump Foundation are not allowed to engage in politics. Even <strong>more problematic was the fact that the contribution was given as Bondi\u2019s office was deciding whether to take legal action related to Trump University.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2016\/06\/10\/politics\/pam-bondi-donald-trump-donation\/index.html\">CNN<\/a>: \u201c<strong>The donation came<\/strong> from one of Trump\u2019s charities <strong>six days after Bondi\u2019s then-spokeswoman told a reporter their office was \u2018currently reviewing the allegations\u2019 against Trump University<\/strong> in a class action lawsuit in New York, according to internal emails that were among more than 8,000 pages of documents originally requested by The Orlando Sentinel and also obtained by CNN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>Florida never pursued any investigation or action against Trump<\/strong> or his university.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2016\/7\/20\/12242170\/pam-bondi-trump-rnc-convention\">Vox<\/a>: \u201cThen, four days later, a $25,000 check from Trump to Bondi\u2019s reelection campaign showed up. <strong>Bondi ended up not suing Trump after all, even though she had plenty of reason to do so.<\/strong> Florida had received complaints about Trump\u2019s series of real estate seminars, and a class-action lawsuit on behalf of students in the state is currently in progress in federal court in New York.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bondi faces major conflict of interest concerns with the very companies she\u2019s tasked with policing, stemming from her \u201ctransactional philosophy\u201d with corporations as Florida\u2019s AG, where she took \u201cdonations and free travel\u201d from targets of potential investigations.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/01\/08\/us\/politics\/pam-bondi-trump-attorney-general-lobbyist.html\">New York Times<\/a>: \u201c<strong>Now, critics question if Ms. Bondi will bring that same transactional philosophy to the Justice Department.<\/strong> \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>Ms. Bondi represented a long roster of corporate clients<\/strong>, including Uber and Amazon. Many of these companies have business with the federal government \u2014 and could be subject to scrutiny by a Justice Department run by her, <strong>raising questions about potential conflicts of interest. \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u201cThese appeals to Ms. Bondi to not pursue various investigations were often paired with donations and free travel. \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cRobert Weissman, co-president of Public Citizen, which is tracking the potential conflicts of interests created by Mr. Trump\u2019s return to the White House, said <strong>the lobbying record suggested Ms. Bondi would have an array of conflicts of interest if she is confirmed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>\u2018Many of those companies are under investigation or being sued by or are contractors to the federal government,\u2019<\/strong> Mr. Weissman said. \u2018The attorney general is supposed to be the attorney general for all Americans, not for 30 companies that she was registered to lobby for.\u2019\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>###<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In response to the confirmation of Project 2025 lawyer Pam Bondi\u2019s nomination to be Attorney General, DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: \u201cPam Bondi will put Donald Trump above the law and the American people.
