In response to ADP\u2019s <\/em>February jobs report<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Alex Floyd released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump inherited one of the strongest<\/a> labor markets in US history, but his reckless and unaffordable economic agenda is already costing Americans their jobs and making small businesses suffer. Instead of trying to help hardworking families, Trump\u2019s only answer is to double down<\/a> on his price-raising national tax agenda, joke<\/a> about the pain Americans are feeling, and refuse to take any responsibility<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: During Trump\u2019s first full month in office, private businesses added the least number of jobs since July, as small businesses lost employees, pay gains failed to grow, and critical industries suffered declines across the board. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

ADP National Employment Report<\/a>: \u201cPrivate employers added 77,000 jobs in February<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHiring slowed to the smallest level of gains since July<\/strong>, with trade and transportation, health care and education, and information showing job losses. Small business employment also fell. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cChange by Industry Sector \u2026 Natural resources\/mining -2,000 \u2026 Trade\/transportation\/utilities -33,000 \u2026 Education\/health services -28,000 \u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor job-changers, year-over-year pay gains slowed slightly<\/strong>, from 6.8 percent in January to 6.7 percent. Pay gains for job-stayers were flat<\/strong> at 4.7 percent.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s unaffordable and reckless agenda is already tanking the economy as economists warn of a <\/strong>\u201cTrump recession,\u201d<\/strong><\/a> Americans fear higher prices, and Trump isn\u2019t doing enough to lower inflation. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Telegraph<\/a>: \u201cEconomists are starting to worry about a serious Trump recession\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cThe United States economy is starting to show signs of strain <\/strong>as President Trump\u2019s abrupt moves to shrink federal spending, lay off government workers and impose tariffs on America\u2019s largest trading partners rattle businesses and reverberate across states and cities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reuters\/Ipsos<\/a>: \u201c[A] majority of Americans also believe that the national economy (53%) is off on the wrong track, as is their cost of living (64%).<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elon University<\/a>: \u201cMore than 80% of respondents said they believe tariffs will lead to increased prices<\/strong>, with 45% expecting significant hikes<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CNN<\/a>: \u201cA new CNN poll shows 62% of Americans feel Trump hasn\u2019t done enough to tackle inflation<\/strong>. Nearly the same share of Americans view inflation as \u2018a very big problem,\u2019<\/strong> according to a Pew Research poll\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REMINDER: During his first term, Trump rigged the economy for the rich \u2014 creating incentives for companies to ship jobs overseas and giving the ultra-wealthy massive handouts at the expense of working families \u2014 and he is trying to do it again. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump<\/a>: \u201cYou\u2019re all people that have a lot of money. \u2026 You\u2019re rich as hell. \u2026 We\u2019re gonna give you tax cuts.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
