As voters (and Trump himself<\/a>) brace for a \u201cserious Trump recession,\u201d<\/a> Americans are turning<\/a> on Trump\u2019s disastrous handling of the economy as uncertainty about his reckless agenda hits the \u201chighest level since the pandemic.\u201d <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here\u2019s a look at the American people\u2019s disapproval of Trump\u2019s reckless economic agenda: <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

USA Today<\/a>: \u201cTrump promised a boom. Now he\u2019s bracing Americans for economic turbulence\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNow – nearly two months into a second Trump term – his administration is bracing Americans for economic turbulence as last year\u2019s campaign rhetoric collides with the reality of an increasingly uncertain economy.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTrump and others in his administration have talked in recent days about the potential for \u2018disturbance,\u2019 \u2018disruption\u2019 and a \u2018detox period\u2019 <\/strong>in the economy as it adjusts to Trump’s tariffs on leading trade partners and widespread public sector job cuts \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe president wouldn\u2019t rule out a recession in an interview that aired Sunday \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince the start of Trump\u2019s second term, there has been a whirlwind of policy changes that many economists say has fueled this uncertainty. \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Economic Policy Uncertainty Index provides a snapshot of this sentiment. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCurrently, the index stands at its highest level since the pandemic. \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLikewise, the University of Michigan\u2019s index of consumer sentiment has also taken a hit due to tariffs and inflation. In February, it fell nearly 16% compared to a year ago. \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn its latest survey of small business optimism, the National Federation of Independent Business on Tuesday said its index had fallen by 2.1 points in February to 100.7. \u2026 The NFIB said its uncertainty index also rose 4 points to 104, the second highest reading.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAfter US markets closed \u2013 with the S&P down 2.7%, the Dow Jones down 2%, the Nasdaq down 4%, and shares in Elon Musk\u2019s Tesla seeing their worst day since late 2020, falling 15 points <\/strong>\u2013 Trump\u2019s account was posting ads for The Apprentice.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hill<\/a>: \u201cPresident Trump\u2019s approval rating has dropped<\/strong> a few points since he first took office, with voters increasingly expressing concerns over the state of the economy, <\/strong>according to a poll released Tuesday. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
