By <\/em>defunding<\/em><\/a> Planned Parenthood, Donald Trump is gutting access to affordable <\/em>health care<\/em><\/a> for millions of Americans who rely on it for everything from primary care to cancer screenings to contraceptive services. Trump is fulfilling another goal of his <\/em>unpopular<\/em><\/a> and dangerous Project 2025 <\/em>agenda<\/em><\/a> \u2014 and Americans will pay the price.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: Donald Trump is ripping away funding from certain health care providers, including Planned Parenthood \u2014 <\/strong>another<\/em><\/strong> Project 2025 goal.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reuters<\/a>: \u201cTrump administration to freeze family-planning funds for Planned Parenthood\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cReproductive health provider Planned Parenthood said on Monday the Trump administration would cut federal family planning funding as of Tuesday, affecting birth control, cancer screenings and other services for low-income people.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood said that nine of its affiliates received notice that funding would be withheld under a program known as Title X, which has supported healthcare services for the poor since 1970. The Wall Street Journal reported last week the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services planned an immediate freeze of $27.5 million in family planning grants for groups including Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPlanned Parenthood says more than 300 health centers are in the Title X network and Title X-funded centers received more than 1.5 million visits in 2023. <\/strong>It not say how much funding would be halted by the Trump administration.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planned Parenthood is wildly popular, with broad bipartisan support \u2013 the American people <\/strong>strongly<\/em><\/strong> oppose efforts to defund it. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Planned Parenthood<\/a>: \u201cNearly 8 in 10 (77%) voters oppose the Trump administration taking away funds from Planned Parenthood<\/strong> health centers used for birth control for people with low incomes. This includes 63% of Trump voters.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNearly three-quarters of voters (73%) \u2014 including more than half of Trump voters (55%) \u2014 oppose Congress taking away funds from Planned Parenthood<\/strong> health centers for providing birth control, wellness exams, and cancer screenings.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
