In response to the FBI arresting a sitting judge, <\/em>DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump has spent his presidency attacking the Constitution and our democracy. He incited a failed insurrection after losing an election. He\u2019s launched an unprecedented assault on our nation\u2019s courts after threatening to send Americans to foreign gulags. And he\u2019s making it clear he\u2019s plotting to run for an unconstitutional third term. Now, he\u2019s having his federal goons arrest a duly elected judge. Brick by brick, Trump is trying to take apart our democracy to fulfill his dream of being a dictator<\/a> on \u2018Day One.\u2019 How much longer before all of us \u2014 Republicans, Democrats, and everyone in between \u2014 draw a line in the sand?\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: In an unprecedented attack on the judiciary, the FBI arrested Hannah Dugan \u2014 a duly elected, veteran judge. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel<\/a>: \u201cDugan is being charged with two federal felony counts: obstruction and concealing an individual. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe veteran judge<\/strong> handles misdemeanor cases exclusively. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDugan was elected to Branch 31 of the Circuit Court in 2016<\/strong> by knocking off an appointee of Republican Gov. Scott Walker. Her judicial term expires in 2028.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has a long history of ignoring court orders and attacking judges. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump has spent his presidency attacking the checks and balances that keep our democracy intact \u2014 even calling to <\/strong>\u201cterminate\u201d<\/strong><\/a> the Constitution. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
