Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cVice President JD Vance will headline a political fundraiser in Las Vegas on Tuesday requiring a $1 million donation per attendee<\/strong>, according to an invitation for the event obtained by The Washington Post. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe exclusive fundraiser is taking place the night before Vance is scheduled to speak at the Bitcoin 2025 Conference in Las Vegas, a massive gathering of cryptocurrency investors. Attendees at the conference will not only hear from the vice president, but also from Trump\u2019s sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, as well as from White House crypto czar David Sacks, among other speakers.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CBS News<\/a>: \u201cVice President JD Vance is speaking Wednesday at a Bitcoin conference, marking the Trump administration\u2019s latest overture to the cryptocurrency industry \u2014 a once-fringe business that President Trump and his allies have embraced in recent months.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last week, Trump threw a <\/strong>lavish<\/strong><\/a> dinner \u2014 funded by <\/strong>taxpayers<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 for ultra-wealthy crypto investors who funneled <\/strong>$148 million<\/strong><\/a> into his grifts to buy favors from the White House. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New York Times<\/a>: \u201cPresident Trump gathered<\/strong> Thursday evening at his Virginia golf club with the highest-paying customers of his personal cryptocurrency, promising that he would promote the crypto industry from the White House<\/strong> as protesters outside condemned the event as a historic corruption of the presidency. \u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSeveral of the dinner guests,<\/strong> in interviews with The New York Times, said that they attended the event with the explicit intent of influencing Mr. Trump and U.S. financial regulations. \u2026 <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMr. Trump and his business partners organized the dinner to promote sales of his $TRUMP cryptocurrency<\/strong>, a memecoin launched just days before Mr. Trump\u2019s inauguration. \u2026 Mr. Trump\u2019s coins have become a vehicle for investors, including many foreigners, to funnel money to his family.\u201d<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGovernment-watchdog groups have condemned the dinner<\/strong>, saying it potentially violates federal rules that bar officials from soliciting gifts.<\/strong> If any attendees are linked to foreign states, the dinner could also violate the Constitution\u2019s emoluments clause<\/strong>, which bars federal officials from accepting gifts from foreign governments, they say.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Already, since the early days of [Donald Trump\u2019s] reelection campaign, he\u2019s more than doubled his net worth to about $5.4 billion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
