In response to Donald Trump ending guidance requiring hospitals to provide emergency reproductive health care to pregnant women, <\/em>DNC Spokesperson Aida Ross released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump \u2014 the man who \u2018proudly\u2019 takes credit for overturning Roe v. Wade<\/em> \u2014 has now overturned protections that guarantee emergency care for pregnant women. While women suffer under his draconian state abortion bans, Trump is making clear that he\u2019d rather let them die on the table than get lifesaving care. This is Project 2025 \u2014 and Trump won\u2019t stop until he\u2019s put even more lives at risk with a national abortion ban.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Trump administration overturned the Biden-Harris administration\u2019s efforts to ensure pregnant women can access emergency medical care in the face of extreme abortion bans. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Washington Post<\/a>: \u201cThe Trump administration has rescinded Biden-era guidance requiring hospitals to provide emergency abortions when necessary to stabilize a patient\u2019s health \u2014 even in states that ban the procedure. \u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Biden administration had issued the guidance in July 2022, weeks after the Supreme Court overturned <\/strong>Roe v. Wade<\/em><\/strong>, ending the national right to abortion, to clarify that a federal law guaranteeing emergency care for patients in peril took precedence over state abortion bans.<\/strong> It later sued Idaho in federal court to enforce penalties against hospitals that disregarded the federal policy to adhere to the state\u2019s strict abortion ban.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under his Project 2025 agenda, Trump is attacking women\u2019s reproductive rights and trying to ban abortion nationwide while invading the privacy of millions of American women.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
