Hodges, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTen years ago, after decades of struggle and perseverance, LGBTQ+ couples finally obtained the right to marry the person whom they love. The right to marry guarantees the right to equal protections, and the ability to proudly celebrate who you love, but also rights that may not come to mind, like the ability to visit your spouse in the hospital and receive family leave.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAlthough the right to marry is enshrined in federal law thanks to the passage of the Respect for Marriage Act, Donald Trump and the GOP continue to spew hateful rhetoric that jeopardizes not only the sanctity of marriage but also trans rights, health care access, and broad discrimination against the LGBTQ+ community. Last year alone, MAGA Republicans introduced 533 anti-LGBTQ+ bills, and they certainly won\u2019t stop now that Trump is in the White House.
