In response to new polling showing 71% of AANHPIs disapprove of Trump (up 11 percentage points from December), <\/em>DNC Vice Chair Shasti Conrad released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn over six months in office, Trump has broken every promise he\u2019s made to the American people \u2014 and the AANHPI community is calling bullshit. We\u2019re feeling Trump\u2019s failures in our wallets, at our kitchen tables, at our small businesses, and everywhere in between. AANHPIs are the margin of victory, and we\u2019ll make our voices heard in every election to come to hold Trump and Republicans accountable for throwing our community under the bus.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: The AANHPI community\u2019s frustration with Trump and his failed record continues to grow \u2014 rising from 60% unfavorability in December to a whopping 71% in July \u2014 and even increased among Republicans and independents.<\/strong>
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cThe percentage of Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders with an unfavorable opinion of Trump rose to 71% in July, from 60% in December,<\/strong> according to a national survey by AAPI Data and The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most AANHPI adults worry about Trump\u2019s chaotic economic agenda: erratic trade policies, higher costs, and the growing likelihood of a recession. <\/strong>
<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Associated Press<\/a>: \u201cAbout 8 in 10 AAPI adults expect Trump\u2019s tariff policies will increase the cost of consumer goods,<\/strong> the poll found, while only about 4 in 10 think those policies will boost domestic manufacturing and just 2 in 10 anticipate more U.S. jobs as a result.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTo me, it seems like a lot of not-really-well-thought-out things that are happening,\u2019<\/strong> said Michael Ida, a 56-year-old independent in Hawaii who teaches high school advanced-placement calculus. \u2018In the process, there\u2019s a lot of collateral damage and fallout that\u2019s hurting a lot of people.\u2019<\/strong> Ida was referring specifically to government spending cuts, including for education. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe new poll also suggests that they are especially likely to be worried about the economy\u2019s trajectory, and remain anxious about high costs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAbout two-thirds of AAPI adults, 65%, say they are \u2018extremely\u2019 or \u201cvery\u201d concerned about the possibility of the U.S. economy going into a recession<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
