In response to Donald Trump\u2019s crashing poll numbers, <\/em>DNC Communications Director Rosemary Boeglin released the following statement:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDonald Trump is the least popular president in modern American history at this point in a term, and now he is sending the GOP home for August recess to sell to their constituents the most unpopular budget on record. Trump is finding out what happens when you betray the American people. Working families deserve better than an administration \u2014 and a party \u2014 that always puts their billionaire donors first.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW: Donald Trump is the least popular president at this point in a presidential term.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gallup<\/a>: \u201cIndependents Drive Trump\u2019s Approval to 37% Second-Term Low\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSix months into his second term, President Donald Trump\u2019s job approval rating has dipped to 37%, the lowest of this term<\/strong> and just slightly higher than his all-time worst rating of 34% at the end of his first term. Trump\u2019s rating has fallen 10 percentage points among U.S. adults since he began his second term<\/strong> in January, including a 17-point decline among independents, to 29%, matching his lowest rating with that group<\/strong> in either of his terms. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDuring Trump\u2019s second quarter of his second term<\/strong>, which spanned April 20 through July 19, he averaged 40% job approval, \u2026 It is well below the 59% average second-quarter rating for all post-World War II presidents <\/strong>elected from 1952 to 2020.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With his approval rating already in the gutter, Trump is set to <\/strong>travel<\/strong><\/a> across the country in a desperate attempt to sell his <\/strong>wildly unpopular<\/strong><\/a> billionaire-first budget. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

G. Elliott Morris<\/a>: \u201cThe OBBBA is<\/strong> also historic in another way: It is likely the most unpopular budget ever, is the second most unpopular piece of key legislation since the 1990s, and the most unpopular key law<\/strong>, period, over the same period. \u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udc68\u200d\ud83c\udfed Nearly 2 million<\/a> construction and 2 million<\/a> clean energy manufacturing jobs are at risk. Trump and Republicans\u2019 cuts to Medicaid and SNAP endanger another 1.2 million<\/a> jobs.

\ud83c\udfe5 17 million<\/a> Americans could lose health insurance, a whopping 27% of nursing homes could be forced to close their doors, and more than 300 rural hospitals could close.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf5e More than 22 million<\/a> working families could lose some or all of their food benefits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83e\uddd1\u200d\ud83c\udf3e American farmers will lose an estimated $23 billion<\/a> in revenue due to SNAP cuts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udfe0 Experts<\/a> say it is \u201cthe most regressive tax and budget law in at least the past 40 years\u2014and possibly ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcc9 The SNAP, Medicaid,<\/a> and energy subsidy<\/a> cuts alone will reduce the GDP by an estimated $1.1 trillion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\ude80 The deficit will skyrocket by $3.3 trillion<\/a>, stoking inflation and potentially causing an economic crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
