In response to <\/em>new reporting<\/em><\/a> highlighting how Attorney General Pam Bondi rejected ethics advice by Department of Justice staff in order to stay close to Trump amid the Epstein scandal, <\/em>DNC Rapid Response Director Kendall Witmer released the following statement: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAttorney General Pam Bondi is practically glued to convicted Commander in Chief Donald Trump\u2019s hip, ready to lick his boots or orchestrate a government cover-up at his command. Here\u2019s the bottom line: If Bondi is capable of throwing out ethics rules to be on Trump\u2019s good side, who\u2019s to say how far she\u2019ll go to hide the truth from the American people \u2014 all to appease her puppetmaster in the Oval Office and his circle of rich and powerful elites.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s not forget that only five months ago, Pam Bondi claimed<\/a> the Epstein files were sitting on her desk. Yet, in the time since, Bondi has done nothing but flip-flop on her original comment and deny<\/a> the existence of a client list. Then there\u2019s Trump \u2014 a close friend of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein \u2014 who called for the release of the Epstein files, then failed to do so. But then the bombshell hit: the DOJ found<\/a> that Trump\u2019s name was listed in the Epstein files. Now, caught up in his lie, Trump claims the files are fake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While Trump and his administration try to cover up the heinous crimes included in those files, they\u2019re simultaneously doing favors<\/a> for Epstein\u2019s chief accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. Trump also refused<\/a> to rule out a pardon for Maxwell \u2014 and continues to claim he has the \u201cpower\u201d to grant her freedom. Now \u2014 with her potential pardon on the line \u2014 Maxwell is conveniently claiming<\/a> that Trump never did anything wrong.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump\u2019s even got the rest of his administration in on it. Vance is convening<\/a> government officials in meetings to \u201cdeal\u201d with the Epstein scandal \u2014 but Vance can\u2019t hide the fact that he promised to release the Epstein Files<\/a>, too.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trump and his administration are doing everything in their power to deceive the American people. Despite countless attempts to worm their way out of this mess, no amount of spin can bury this massive scandal.
